Goodman 96% AFUE Two Stage Upflow/Horizontal multi-speed 100k BTU Low NOx Natural Gas furnace (21 wide) (GR9T961004CN)

I’m so happy we went with this furnace. Install was a breeze! It runs half the time of the old furnace and my house is toasty warm. The fan on this thing is amazing.

Honestly, a pretty easy job overall. The furnace itself could have the sight glasses in a more easy-to-read spot (cannot read the error/code display with cover panel on), but as far as keeping my place from freezing, it does the trick. Purchased 12/2/24, installed when delivered 12/10/24. Review left on 12/24/24, and the heats been on for the last 2 weeks no issues. Had a local mechanical company do a startup check on 12/24, and they left no corrective notes, everything arrived dialed in and correct.

Seems like good quality as far as longevity time will tell

She was amazing. There was some confusion on delivery, she had it all addressed in less than 30 minutes and even managed to get the furnace delivered 4 days earlier then the shipping company had said it be here. Furnace was installed in 3 Hrs. and is a quantum improvement over the one replaced. It is simple to work with and has an amazing Warranty which Kristen helped me fill out and I had it immediately. Kirsten was knowledgeable, understanding and a great representative for Goodman Manufacturing and Daikin Industries. Compared to most people you get on the phone in today's world she is a "Superstar" and has insured I will be an advocate for and customer of Goodman for the rest of my life! The furnace showed up crated well. Install was good. Extra screws in the cabinet makes you wonder. LED reads a little different from the booklet for so settings. A pinched wire for over-temp switch stuck in the burner port. Just got it up and running so I'll update later.

This is my second season and it’s running strong. The company that sold it (through Amazon) was very professional and polite, and they made sure the company dropping it off had the needed information for my tricky driveway. It was an exact fit and I could tell it was built with much better quality material than my last furnace. 10 out of 10 would recommend. Plus side it runs mor efficiently than my last one too.

This unit was shipped to my house a day early in perfect condition. I installed it my self. I did have an HVAC contractor do an inspection and operation check, he was so impressed with my installation and the unit as a whole. It's very efficient, quite for a furnace and heats up very fast. The heat Is very comfortable. I am very satisfied.

The furnace is a two stage furnace so you need a thermostat that supports two heat terminals. With that said the installers said it was too big for my home. Wrong the 50K furnace that died was too small and this two stage furnace rarely comes off the first stage which is 67K. This uses more gas than the old furnace but it uses it much more efficiently. Thank goodness for Goodman.

Product is great , quality parts. 100K btu unit has been in service for a month with no issues , very quiet 2 stage Motor combustion blower is quiet also. Installation instructions well written for control logic. easy wiring! One issue was metal housing had loose metal screws may of been due to shipping, so do your inspection ahead of time to catch any snags that could be there!

From the initial installation, this furnace didn't work properly. Connected to tech support. This was an abysmal process. Call - on hold for over an hour, finally left call back number. Took over 2 hours for call back. Book another call back....wait another hour even though we already had a ticket and were "escalated". Seller reached out with basically a "you should get Goodman to help" message. Useless as no-one at Goodman seemed to know how to resolve the issue and the seller offered little help to resolve. The furnace was working post install thanks to the owner and an onsite carpenter reading the manual that came with the unit and fiddling with the drainage system. No idea if the installer is just an idiot or if the unit is just a lemon. Now that the weather is below -25 degrees celsius, the furnace is once again malfunctioning on and off. Sometimes it just doesn't stay lit after ignition. Scared to have the installer back as he just has no clue. Goodman seems to be useless to help and the seller is about as useful as a bag of hammers.

Had the 100K btu furnace installed a few months ago and tried it for and hour and all worked great. Now that I need the heat the damn thing is screwing up!!! The gas valve turns on and off intermittently and then goes out. It cycles 3 times and then locks out. Had techs check the flame sensor, all 3 pressure switches, door switch, venting, drain trap. I'm totally screwed and have a quadruple bypass surgery booked in 2 weeks. STAY AWAY FROM THIS VENDOR. Oh yeah, they refused to give me a bill of sale too. I could only take a pic of the one the kid showed me when he dropped off the furnace. UPDATE- there are ways of getting this furnace to work BUT it may void your warranty. The right-angled rubber boot on the inducer housing must be angled so that the drain side, right side, is at least 3/8" lower than where it connects to the inducer. The other may be red flagged by an inspector. Install a sanitary tee on the horizontal exhaust vent as close to the vertical exit from furnace. Then install a flexible tube coiled once to form a trap and terminate into a drain as normal. FILL THE TRAP WITH WATER.
