GemRed 82305 Aluminum Digital Angle Finder Protractor

This works great and is very easy to use. It is made very well and is durable. I have used it several times in the last few months. It is very accurate. I used my friend's expensive tools to check the angles and they were right on. I have a better angle finder than my friend and it was a lot less money. I really like it and it is dependable.

This tool is perfect. Inexpensive and, as far as I can tell, accurate. very handy to have.

This angle finder seems to work fine, but I can’t give it 5 stars. I ordered the item on Friday and it arrived on Saturday. I tested it immediately and was surprised that there was no battery in the package. I turned it on and the display was blank. I opened the battery compartment and there was already a battery inside. I replaced the battery and the angle finder would not work – it would display all 8’s or all zeroes or nothing at all. I arranged for a return to Amazon Saturday evening. I received a second angle finder on Sunday. It had a battery packaged separately. I installed the battery and it worked fine. I am happy with it. It’s a nice angle finder. It seems apparent that I received a defective item that had already been returned by someone else. I was tempted to give the item 3 stars due to the aggravation. However, I will go with 4 stars due to the fact that I received a new angle finder within 1 day and it is fine. Also, it was relatively simple to return the original angle finder to Amazon. My suggestion is to test an item like this as soon as you receive it. So many reviews on similar items state that they waited too long and could not return the item.

Purchased black aluminum model in November of 2024. Love it. If I have a saw out, I also have this out. White markings on black background are easily read, but I rarely use in to measure length. I use mostly for the digital angle readings. This tool gets used frequently to measure a needed angle and to then set saw blades at those angles. It gets used again to return table saw blades back to 90 degrees. I also own a magnetic digital angle finder, but usually prefer this Gemred tool when setting up saw blades. Digital display is easy to read indoors and outdoors. Tool has auto zero button. If you forget to turn it off, it will automatically shut off. I'm still working with original battery, and this tool gets frequent use. It lives in a non-temperature-controlled garage.

Great for finding the correct angle

This came out of the box spot on accurate. I put it against a brand new framing square and read 90.0 inside and outside the frame. I had to install filler strip along the top of my newly remodeled kitchen cabinets that trimmed out the cabinets to the ceiling. Having a corner cabinet I needed something to give me the exact angle between cabinets.. I then divided the angle in half and that gave me the exact setting on my miter saw. I set the angle finder at that angle tightened it and transferred the tool to my miter saw and adjusted the blade at the exact angle and locked it down. The cuts were just perfect and this tool saved me a lot of guess work. For the price its well worth it to have the exact angle you need.

Works how it should, decent quality material, accurate, lightweight, non fragile

When I inserted the battery, the LED only displays 888.8. Using the zero or on/off buttons does nothing. Reinsert battery, insert battery upside down, move the rule angle - - nothing works. Also purchased a new battery thinking the one that came with it was low in charge. No luck. I have had it more than 30 days so can't return via Amazon. I've just sent an email to the company and will update this review depending on the results of that. Update March 16: I have received an email response from the company and they have promised to replace the product. The black version is out of stock right now but will be available in a month. They offered to send the silver one immediately but I've opted to wait for the black because it's much easier to see. I'll update again when I get the replacement. For now, upgrading this review to 2 stars. Update March 21: I to my surprise I got an email from GEMRED telling me they arranged to ship the replacement. Sweet! But today I got it and instead of getting the black one they sent me the silver version. Good news: It works. Bad news: can't see it. See the attached picture. You can see why I said I'd wait for the black one. The saga continues. I'll contact them and see what happens next. Update: Well, this started as a one star review and now I'm upgrading it to four stars because I just got word from GemRed that they now have the black version in stock and are shipping one to me. I had given up, thinking that they wouldn't follow through on my request for black. Once I get it, I'll be upgrading to five stars. Tremendous customer service.

Great quality and accuracy. Perfect for nailing those imperfect corner mitres on trim and moldings.

Seems to be really well made and accurate compared with some of the versions able to be purchased locally in NZ. Very happy with this purchase.

I am currently fuuly renovating a house and one of the many jobs it to either fully replace the stairs or renovate what is there. This has primarily been bought to identify the angle of the stairs so that if we go down the route of renovating, it will give is the angle of the stairs so we can see if off thet shelf items like the glass sides can be bought. Came well protected, good instructions that are easy to follow and when using on known angles, works a treat. Accuracy was very good, there is a tolerance of error but for what im using this for, its well within what i need even if slightly out.
