Just as it should
If you're looking to power a high-performance GPU in your Dell PowerEdge R720, the COMeap GPU Power Cable is an excellent choice. I recently used this cable to connect a Nvidia Tesla K80 and an M40 GPU, and it worked flawlessly. The product description was spot on—the cable was exactly what I expected. It’s well-made and the connectors fit securely into both the GPU and the server's motherboard. Installation was a breeze and everything powered on without any issues. The price is very competitive, especially when you consider the quality and the fast shipping. I received the cable quickly and was able to get my server upgraded right away. If you need a reliable, affordable, and quick solution to power a GPU in a Dell PowerEdge R720, I highly recommend this cable.

Works Great for R730 / Dual Tesla P40s
4/2/2026 Update: I want to commend this company for excellent customer service, which is rare on Amazon. I previously left a review with concerns about incompatibility of the cables with the R730 / P40 (see below). The company reached out to me personally through Amazon and clarified that the "sense" pin (pin 6 on the riser side) is intentionally left empty. After receiving this info I plugged the cables in and sure enough, they work great. I've stress tested both cards and had no issues, temps max out at around 70C and the cables can deliver all of the power the cards need. They were also immediately recognized by the R730, I just had to install Nvidia drivers and everything worked smoothly. Just be sure to plug the side with the empty pin 6 into the riser side, and the other end of the cable into the GPU itself. OLD REVIEW: Going to try to save some others some headaches with this cable. This is NOT compatible with the R730 / Tesla P40 combo. The cables I got were actually pinned differently, but both cables had riser side pin 6 empty. This is a "sense" pin that is supposed to be jumped to riser pin 4. It is possible the cables might work if plugged in, but it is dangerous to use them since they have the wrong pinout. Another reviewer has shared the correct pinout below- it is possible to repin the cable but requires some technical knowledge. Also, this cable has no keying to prevent it from being plugged in backwards, which could cause a fire and destroy your server. For this reason it is very important to plug the cable in such that the plug with the 3 12V pins is on the riser side, and the plug with the 4 12V pins is on the GPU side. Buyer beware, this could be a dangerous cable if you do not know what you are doing.

Well made. Fits in my Dell PowerEdge R730XD with Nvidia RTX3060 GPU. No issues for about 6 months installed.

Worked for me out of the box with our 730 server and Tesla M60 card
Worked without any modification in my application. I have a Dell R730 power edge server and I installed a Tesla M60 card. The side missing one pin goes to the riser and the side with all eight pins occupied goes to the card.

Incorrect cable
Cable isnt compatable with R730XD despite what the listing states. Cable would need to be repinned to be compatible. Using an RTX 4000 with and R730XD.

The cable was wired wrong for a P40 to R730xd.
Functionality: I was using this to hook a Nvidia Tesla P40 to a Dell Poweredge R730xd. I had just purchased the P40 and thought there was an issue with it. I was about to return it because the computer could see the card running: "root:~# lspci | grep -i nvidia 82:00.0 3D controller: NVIDIA Corporation GP102GL [Tesla P40] (rev a1)" but I found nothing running "root:~# nvidia-smi No devices were found" I tried multiple Nvidia drivers and tests with no luck. Finally I took a multimeter to the cable coming from the PCIe riser and found pin 6 that should have been 0v was reading -3.3v. I Googled it and the solution was that it was a sense pin that had been wired to ground. I spent way too long getting the pins out using tweezers and staples and swapping pins 4 and 6. As soon as I plugged the cable in with the wires swapped, the card was recognized right away. It took two days of troubleshooting to get this fixed. I should have started with the cable, but I was focused on the GPU and drivers.
