Stellar James Martin Scalloped Chef's Knife

I did a lot of research looking for a set of knives prepared to dig deep for a good quality set but after purchasing this, I no no longer feel the need to buy a set of professional knives as this one is so effective. Firstly I love the size. Its the perfect mid-size for adept handling and doesn't get in the way of the task, if you know what I mean. It has a nice substantial weight to it, its extremely sharp, cutting through the toughest things like a large butternut squash, and peeling a whole pineapple so easily without the need for me to apply hardly any pressure at all. Then, the gill-like ridges on the knife are genius as its prevents whatever you're chopping sticking to the sides of the knife, they tend to just fall away. This knife is brilliant and at such a bargain price. I am very impressed with it.

Ordered this knife as I cut myself very badly with a cheap small knife that was blunt. This is a very nice weight, it feels nice to hold and does the job of chopping beautifully. Extremely pleased. A well balanced knife.

Excellent quality knife, replacing a knife out of a stellar set broken by operator error!

Excellent knife. I was fed up of having food stick to my knives when slicing so had to find a knife which does the job without holding on to the food. The Dexam knife is similar to what I was looking for but I didn't like the idea of a knife which had a wavy blade, wavy blades can flex if enough pressure is put on it, not to say that the Dexam would do so because I don't know. The design of this knife appears to have been well thought out with the air pockets being larger than the other knife. This knife is sturdy with a thin blade and very sharp, the paper test proves that. You know how cucumber and tomatoes can stick to any knife but not on this one, the blade just appear to push fruit and vegetable apart during cutting which means that you don't have to stop to clear the knife in order to go for the next cut. Slicing thin and even has never been so easy and less mess too. i am really pleased with this knife.

Great but could be sharper

Trying to improve technique I heard about 6 inch chef knives so had to try one. For vegetables I tried for a while to use an 8 inch knife I already had but of course that seemed to be too big and heavy. This seems great to me for chopping and slicing, doesn't weigh much and I can grip it in the middle as I had read about. Excellent value for money as far as I can tell.

It's a very sharp knife that cuts through any food type smoothly. It's lighter than other knives of a similar size that I've had, but it's well balanced and rocks nicely when chopping.

I’m very happy with this knife. It’s just the right weight for me and chops up my veg easily and today I sliced a cooked ham with no problem at all. Good value for money.
