Highly recommend!
Definitely some high quality speakers. I previously had 2ohm 4x6 infinity kappas in my doors and some infinity reference 4x6s behind the seat in my Kenworth dump truck and my head unit couldn’t handle that low resistance without clipping after 2 songs. I put these 4x6s in the front and some 5.25s in the back and can’t believe the difference. They’re extremely loud but crystal clear at the same time but do lack bass. Of the other sets I’ve tried these 4x6’s are the only ones I’ve had a hard time mounting as you can see in the picture they're a little tight and don’t line up perfect but overall I couldn’t be happier. They feel rugged and the terminals don’t bend easily like most. They’re a little pricey but compared to most in this class I feel like some are just a little better than others unless you’re putting power to them. Edit: After a year I since have installed a Taramps 400.1 running 4ohm at around 60 watt rms and they’re a completely different speaker. Still not going to be heavy bass speakers but I have a 10in jl 10tw3 for that. My semi truck now sounds just as good as my car with a factory Bose system with a 12in sub if not better. Even with the gain cranked up I can literally max out my volume and get no clipping or distortion it’s just so loud your ears bleed lol. I’ve had a set of the 6.75s in my pickup truck running of head unit power for 4 years and they’re also loud and clear but still lack a little bass. These have been my go to and don’t regret it at all. If you’re not happy with the performance add a 4 channel and I think you’d be more than happy.

Couldn't Be Happier! Bass is plenty, and highs are surreal!
Best Thump-Bump for the money. I'm a bit of an audiophile but won't spend $$$ for extreme sound when these are affordable and sound amazing. Clear highs sound truly separated from the underlying bass line in a way that I've actually never heard in any of my friend's cars and is even hard to reproduce in a home surround system. You have to hear it to fully understand but you can have more bass and still hear the lyrics clearer and crisper than ever before. I actually turned my treble down a little at first because the tweeter and mid range was really standing out. Once I got them equalized on my aftermarket 16w RMS stereo it sounds great (Cheap Dual 5" screen stereo, I wouldn't recommend it unless you keep the WallyWord receipt to swap it out when it breaks early). After turning the bass up and mids down a few dB, the treble can be turned up just fine. I always turn mids down some, it's not the speakers. The cymbal hits were so crisp I could hear the cymbals resonating as they faded away over a strong bass line, like in real life. Yep, I was saying wow. I only have the front speakers installed so far and even with poor quality original rears the 2 front 6x8" Fosgates seem to put out as much bass as my factory 8" amplified sub, and they are punchier, more accurate sounding with a very satisfying rumble. However, for balanced sound I would recommend having an 8 or 10" sub. No reason to overdo the sub but it does add depth. This doesn't mean the speakers are weak and require a sub, in fact most people would be satisfied with the bass provided by 4 Fosgate Punches - at least using the 6x8 size. The cone is concave and exterior build quality is outstanding. I expect them to last. I did extensive research on all types of door speakers and spent a little more for these, glad I did. Further Review and Thoughts: My factory speakers are molded into a small box and these are just installed freely inside the door frame, I can definitely feel the sound resonating inside that un-tuned door. They would sound better with a small enclosure, maybe ported, but buidling / installing that would be tricky unless you use something like a Boom Mat speaker baffle (never tried them but probably helpful if it fits properly - see reviews). If anyone has used them with these speakers please comment, I suspect porting would do best since they are moving some air. I'm really excited to install the rears! Very easy to install and in the 05 Explorer the door panels couldn't be easier to remove. Cost wise you might be surprised what your factory speakers are selling for used on eBay. I can hopefully get enough to offset half my cost. These aren't designed to be turned way up to 11, you need something with higher RMS wattage for that but they are loud. Trust me, I doubt you'll return these for audio reasons nor want to upgrade after you get them equalized properly. If your stereo is factory, upgrade that first for best sound. I'm telling everyone to come sit and listen to at least 30 seconds of music. I used dielectric grease on the connectors but check to see if your car's wires have oxidized, mine had a black coating on the copper wire even tho it was stripped 3" back from the connector. This could affect transmission so I used a pocket knife to quickly scrape that off and make it shiny before attaching my blade connectors. Crimp them tight and check polarity! I needed small washers on the factory screw heads so they wouldn't dig into the mounting holes but hardware and clips are provided. I took the install opportunity to clean and spray my door hinges with white lithium grease and clean the door seams and window track. A window motor can last inevitably longer if dust and grit aren't causing resistance. Real-World Technical Aspects: Prices can't be beaten, pick up a couple sets, generally for best sound use the same speakers in all 4 doors. The magnet was strong in these by the way, that's a very good sign. I wouldn't worry about the mediocre sensitivity specs, it's not quite 90 dB or higher but the volume loudness was fine even with a relatively underpowered head unit. The frequency range also sounded full to me, I could hear and feel the low frequency lows very well and obviously they are producing the highs in blissful abundance. The crossover works beautifully to separate the frequencies and send them to the proper component. I assume this is one aspect where Rockford Fosgate's engineering is superior to lesser brands. My car came with premium sound, 2-way door speakers and a factory 8" sub but this fills the car with sound, blowing the old speakers out of the water and onto an eBay listing!

Works on a 07 Ford Explorer
Seen many videos with this in my 2007 Ford Explorer, and can't say I was disappointed. This is a very well-made product that I was surprised by how clear the sound was, as well as the bass is very good for the money spent. Would recommend these if you're on a budget and don't have a subwoofer. If you do have one, just make sure to tune it well with the speakers.

Nice Speaker, Okay low tones
Bought these to replace the rear speakers in my 2006 Ford Explorer. Fit perfectly.Bought the pig tail plug-in adapters and these literally plugged right in to the existing wiring harness. No cutting or splicing wires. I literally had these replaced in about 30 minutes! Sound quality is nice as well. The bass isn’t as deep as I’d like but then again I didn’t buy these to blow the rear license plate off the car. It’s a 2006 Explorer we’re talking about here…. Overall I’m happy with the purchase.

WOW.. what a difference!!!!
Installed into the front and rear doors on a 2011 Ford Escape. 6x8 (x4). If you don't want to cut off the original wire connector, you can buy the cable adapters. I bought some and installed them too. Before you mount these bad boys however, make sure to add some soundproofing onto the inner door panel as you can see in the photo. Then add some onto the door panel as well. This will make the bass and sound quality much much cleaner and precise. The difference between the factory speakers and these RFs is like mid afternoon and midnight, flaming hot and frozen cold, super sweet and super salty (you get the picture). But the one thing that will truly give you the utmost best sound is using an EQ. Using the radio is not going to do you much favors. I have tons and tons of music downloaded onto my phone and Android tablet. They are paired via bluetooth to the Escape. I use the app called VLC which has a 10 band EQ. Here's how you can get the best, most clean sound with your factory unit. 1. Set your Bass, Treble (and mid) to the flat position of your head unit (flat meaning in the middle. No positive or negative gains). 2. Set the VLC EQ to your liking. 3. Turn the Preamp (slider bar) down almost all the way 4. Turn the head unit volume 3/4 high (three quarters of full volume) 5. Slide the VLC Preamp bar up as much as possible until you hear distortion (crackling, fuzzy, super unclear) then turn it down just a notch. This should give you very clear sound. You can try with any app that has an EQ.

Nice set.
Definitely a great improvement over the stock door speakers in my Ford E350 work van. I wanted to improve the sound without installing amplifiers and subwoofers, etc.... and these speakers sound pretty sweet. 5 stars for the sound. Amazon dropped the ball though and sent me something totally different and were not able to replace these speakers for me, so I took my refund and ordered them from Crutchfield instead.
