The openings on the cover for the wraparound belly belt thing are about 3/4 inch bigger on either end of the belt so I know that if he has a diaper blowout it’s going to get through that, and it’s not very attractive to see cream colored plastic poking through what is not an inexpensive cover. Additionally, the cover is a bit too small for the pad and so the stretchy sides of the cover (think fitted mattress sheet..) do not wrap under the pad, they hover at the sides and there’s a noticeable kind of poofiness (again, think fitted mattress sheet that is too small for the mattress and doesn’t really stay on properly) on the surface where it’s obviously too small and will probably retract and be rendered completely useless once a baby or any weight is placed on it. I’m not sure what to do here because this particular changing pad has different straps than any other I’ve seen and the only way I can foresee utilizing a different cover would be to either forego use of the safety belt entirely and cover them up, or to buy a regular pad cover and cut holes into it where the belt would go through. Neither seem like very wise options. I’m disappointed because I really love the pad itself as far as I haven’t seen any pads that have wide and soft belly straps, and I’m not sure why they would do such a shoddy job with the covers.. OH and also, the cover will 100% not stay on if you intend on following the pad instructions for securing the pad to the changing table via two small straps on the side that are supposed to be like screwed directly through said fabric strap into the changing table somehow.. I want this thing to be as secure as possible but that part of the design seems very stupid. With any real exertion of movement, the fabric straps are going to just tear and meanwhile you have some random screws being drilled haphazardly into your changing table or station and that is wonky as all get out.
