I am 5'6" female and this bike is perfect! It is comfortable and a great height. I wanted the look of the cruisers, but wanted to be able to keep up with my husband while biking. This bike fits the bill perfectly - it has the mud guards and the cute back rack, but it can keep up too! There are a lot of gears, I don't change them too much, but I do like having them instead of just 1 or 3 options like a cruiser would offer. I've ridden this bike to work (~ 7 miles one way) and it was a great ride. The seat is comfortable too. I would highly recommend this bike if you want a cute, sophisticated bike that can ride well too.Just know that you will have to take this to a bike shop unless you're a professional. It pretty much comes assembled, so my husband put it together, seemed easy enough - unfortunately he put the handle bars on backwards (looked normal to me! lol) and the fender in the front kept rubbing on the tires - also the gears felt weird and it was hard to pedal -- once we had the bike shop do the adjustments (~ $50) it was like a completely different bike! I would highly recommend just taking the bike to the bike shop and asking them to assemble it - that way they can't make fun of how you (or your spouse) assembled it in the first place lol.UPDATE 7.6.2013I want to provide an update to my review and respond to a few of the comment threads/questions here.I've now had this bike for 2 & 1/2 years and it is still working great! I love my bike and have been mostly happy with my purchase with just a few (minor) exceptions.I did not purchase any baskets or accessories so I can't comment or make recommendations on those (sorry), however, I will mention the back of the bike does have a piece that you can put a small bag and it will hold it down via spring action (i.e. Walgreens bag, small messenger bag, small zipped up purse, or similar).As for it being too tall for some people, I can understand why it may seem so and I do have to jump off the bike to dismount when I stop - I cannot touch the ground to stop, but as mentioned previously that would mean the bike is too small. I believe this is a good comfortable ride for someone of my size - I think if you are shorter (5'4" or under) than this bike will be too big. If I were to make a guess, I would say it is meant for someone between 5'5"-5'9". The seat does sit a little high.I definitely do NOT think this bike is good for off road riding. I had thought the same as others - that a hybrid could go off road. This thinking got me several flat tires :( and was very uncomfortable ride off road. This could be the type of tires that are on it - maybe if you changed the tires out it would work but honestly I would have just opted for a mountain bike if I was going to take it off pavement. I would consider this more of a leisure ride bike.The issues I have had with the bike are:1) The tires - I've had to have them replaced - this is probably common and I used a Living Social Deal for new bike tires when mine went out.2) The fender piece on the front comes loose and rubs on the tires no matter how many times I've had a bike shop "fix" it and my husband has to tighten it occasionally while we are riding. Keep in mind that when I received my bike it was missing the bolt and nut that is suppose to hold the fender on. Instead of sending it back I took it to the bike shop for the assembly mentioned above and they said it was no big problem and they put a bold and nut on it. I've continued to have problems with it though so I thought it was worth mentioning.Other than that I've been super happy with my bike. I think for the price it is a well made bike that has functioned how I wanted it to. If you are looking for more intense bike riding - for speed or off-road - then you will probably land up spending more than this bike costs. If you are looking for a great bike to take out on paved trails for sight-seeing and such then this is perfect. Good luck in your bike search!

This is my baby. I love it to pieces. I love it so much, I am extra cautious about locking it up and make sure to secure the front wheel and the frame together to whatever I'm locking it up to (front tire is quick-release), the seat to the frame (seat is also quick-release), and the seat to the frame to the back tire. And I used to be super lazy with locking up my previous bikes. No, this is my baby. I love it like people in LA love their flashy cars. And this is flashy. I've never had a bike that attracted so many compliments before! Anytime I ride it to meet up with someone, I get a compliment on how pretty the bike is.Overall, the ride is fantastic. I ride it on a very high traffic road that can use some major construction but the tires are thick enough to deal with the bumps that my thinner tires couldn't handle before. A couple of times I've thought that something terrible was about to happen but the bike just rode over it. Quite the opposite from a previous road bike experience. As you might be able to tell, I'm no expert when it comes to riding bikes, so this is great for beginner commuters like me. Cracks and bumps in the road are terrifying for me as I've had my share of accidents trying to ride a bike in very urban areas, so it's great to finally have a bike that I really feel secure on and fully in control of. The posture I end up holding while riding this bike is an added plus. I definitely feel a lot safer riding this among traffic when I'm not hovering in a position that I could just fly off if I hit something. I also appreciate that this bike is just heavy enough that I don't feel like I'm riding an aluminum can - it feels strong ... but it's also not too heavy for me, a 125lb 5'8'' small-framed female who can't do a push up or pull up, to carry upstairs and downstairs from my second-story apartment every day.I also ride it through a residential area with some pretty big hills ... still not a problem and the gears help. The brakes are heavenly - I feel completely in control going down those steep hills and I've never had a problem stopping right where I want to. I've gone on a 16-mile ride nonstop from one end of LA to the other on this bike. It was great. Again, totally love the posture while sitting on this bike. The handles are amazing - love how soft and comfortable for my hands they are ... previous bikes have actually made my hands harder the way fingertips get from playing guitar and were tiring to grip.Thanks to amazon reviewers, I think this was a fantastic find. If it wouldn't make finding my bike parked at school any harder, I'd recommend this to all my friends! I think it was worth every penny. I walked into a bike shop the other day and scoffed at the other bikes selling for $600. Why on earth would I choose one of those over this one? This does what I need it to do and then some!

I'm a 38 year old woman. This is the first bike I had since I was a kid. I wanted something that was comfortable and well suited to various terrain, and purposes. The bike was delivered quickly and well-packed. It wasn't THAT easy to put together. I'm not familiar with bikes, so it would probably be easy for someone who is, but I found it a bit difficult because the bike is mostly assembled. The instruction manual comes with instructions for putting the bike together from scratch, and it shows variations for other bike styles as well. I would love it if it just told you how to put together this specific bike, starting from where the people who partially assembled it left off. I had to read though pages of instructions just to find the parts I needed, and I had to disassemble parts of it in order to assemble some of the parts that had not yet been assembled. All this took a lot of time and was very confusing. I'm actually really good at putting things together, but I don't have a great deal of patience for learning everything about bikes just to finish putting together a partially assembled bike. I had to call customer service twice. The first time was when the seat clamp broke when I tried to put it on the first time. They have regular business hours, so I had to wait until the next day, but they were very polite and sent me a replacement part, free of charge, no questions asked. The second time I called was when I couldn't get the front fender to fit. Tech support told me to turn the fork around, so I did, and it fit.I have only ridden the bike three times so far, each time from 5-15 minutes, so I may adjust my review after I spend more time on it. As I said, I am new to biked, but I have tried to ride bikes three other times in my adult life, and each time, I gave up because they were too uncomfortable and hard to ride. This bike is pretty comfortable, and, although I am not familiar with gears, I watched a couple of youtube videos on how to use gears, and I'm figuring it out. I'm about 5'5" tall, and with the seat on the lowest setting, I feel comfortable and stable. I may have to adjust a few things, like the handle bar position as I get more accustomed to the bike, but so far I like it. The weather is just so hot right now, I haven't had a good opportunity to really get out there and test it out. For now, I am very pleased. I think it's a good value. I think the assembly instructions are excessive and confusing, but customer service was there when I needed them, so this may not be a problem for people who are more familiar with bikes. I will update my review when the weather cools and I have had more time to test the bike.

So far, so good. I opted for a hybrid on the advice of a cycling friend. I stopped cycling about 10 years ago as cycling began to cause hip and back pain, and believe me, I tried all the usual advice on "seat adjustment". When she asked why I don't cycle, upon hearing my response she said, "Try a hybrid, perhaps you need to be more upright." Because I was nervous of the pain, I did not want to spend too much and find the same problem. At the same time, I wanted to purchase something with a name attached. Took me a while to take the plunge, but eventually decided to chance this Schwinn.I am 5.5 and felt this was the right fit. Pleased to discover it is, despite what some people say about sizing. I am about to raise the seat using the heel method as there is still too much "bend" in my knee - just got to get the correct height between knee bend but before hip rocking starts.Contrary to what some people say, you really shouldn’t be able to touch the floor with both of your feet when you’re sitting on the saddle. My daughter is 5.1 (13 years) and with the seat at the lowest level can touch the ground with the tip of her toe, so it is slightly too big for her right now.Came packaged okay, and although the bicycle box notes to not lay flat, the box this is packaged into does not note anything about not lying flat or this side up. Any problems with items damaged are most likely through transportation, so marking the external box would be helpful! Upon opening, I found the small box, with pedals etc. in, did shift during transportation and had wedged itself against the rear mud-guard bending the wire a little. I could probably have fought to return, but felt this was a small thing, so bent it straight myself. The rear mud-guard wasn't installed perfectly straight, but it is clear of the wheel, so am also not stressed about that either. I did find one patch where rubbing during transport scrapped off some paint, but with this being on the rack, this is also not something I am stressed about. Hopefully the rack is aluminium as I am not keen on it rusting. Will probably just dab some paint on in case.Unlike some people, it was not difficult for me to put it together or set it up, I found the instruction booklet to be adequate. I did leave brake adjustment to my husband as I felt I was too inexperienced to try it, but I probably could have with some practice.The gears are smooth and love that I can adjust the handlebars to get the correct back position. I can add a water bottle or pump to the frame as it has screws in place at the bottom of the frame. It is nice and quiet on the ride, so far the seat hasn't caused problems, but will go on a longer ride to test that once I have the correct seat height. A short ride did not cause any hip ache, so hope that continues. Will update the review later.

I love this bike. The look of it, the way it handles on the city streets, the rack to place my take-out, and the color. I receive lots of compliments on it, even one from my son who is a teenager and required by law not to dislike anything that I like.I am 5'4" and this bike is a bit big for me. You should really be at least 5'5" preferably 5'6" for maximum comfort. That is not to say the bike is not comfortable, it just means when I stop and sit on the bike, I have to lean it to the side a bit or else i am balancing on my tip-toes. Assembly was easy and took an hour tops. You can do it by yourself with no help. The brakes and gears are Shimano (the best in the biz). The seat is ultra comfy, especially if you are endowed in the rear area like myself (my cushion still needs cushion). You are able to ride in an upright position as opposed to the way professional cyclists ride.A few minor issues I had. The bike came with a faulty inner-tube, air was escaping through the air pump valve. I called Pacific Cycles and they sent me a new inner-tube at no charge. Unfortunately, the issue did not stop there. The new inner tube received a flat the day I changed it, so I purchased a repair kit. The hole was sealed perfectly, but the tire keep going flat quickly. I also ended up having the cap and the spring come off while riding on the quick release. Not a manufacturing problem, just a note for proper bike maintenance. You should really check these things before every ride. Back to the inner-tube. I checked the tire again and it seems the front rim had a defect, some sharp metal was not properly shaved down. i called PC again and the sent me a new quick release, front rim, inner-tube and inner-tube protector at no charge.I am very impressed with PC as the items took only 2-3 days to arrive to my home. A slight inconvenience, but if I was dealing with a company with a poor customer service record, it could have been a costly inconvenience at my expense. Since those issues have been resolved, I am on the road and loving it. I love this product in-spite of the minor set backs it took to get me on the road--permanently.

I love this bike so very much! For 3 months she's been my daily ride on the streets of LA - sturdy through rough road conditions, but able to handle our (very few) hills. Lighter than I thought, I can carry her easily up and down the stairs, but she doesn't feel flimsy. Seat is comfortable enough - although I might eventually replace it. I found a well-timed Groupon for a local bike shop, so I had them do the assembly but, to be honest, I looked it over and feel like I could have done it myself.A few minor complaints (which still don't bring it down from 5 stars!)- The fenders are plastic - a little rattle-y and cheap, but certainly keeps the LA road grime off me.- The tubes of the bike frame itself are weirdly shaped: oval in some places, really large in other places, strange divots, etc. It has been tricky to figure out how and where to attach things to the bike.----------------------------------UPDATE: 2015.06.26Almost a year and almost 1500 miles - I'm still very happy with this bike (her name is Sylvia, FYI)!The seat is more comfy than I thought and is holding out quite well. I finally got her up off the floor in my studio using this very cool Bike hoist plus these Bar clamps and just noticed for the first time that there is a mounting bracket on the underside of the frame (see pictures). Given how filthy Los Angeles roads are, I'm pretty sure I'll never use that, but perhaps someone else might?Here are the rest of the things (mostly lights, because I believe the more things that blink and shine, they better!) I've used to outfit my sweet ride!- Green Guru Dutchy Pannier - I bought 2 of them! Hard to mount to the bike - please see pictures for how I used a combination of D-rings & hose clamps :-)- Kryptonite U-lock Note that the weirdly shaped frame makes mounting positions VERY limited (see photo for my best solution)- Ultra-bright headlight - Ultra-bright, no kidding.- Rechargeable tail light - This rechargeable tail light with "lane marker" is actually pretty cool- Serfas Seat Tail Light - 2 of these as well, but using them on either side of the frame in the front. Attached with command strips.- Fiberoptic streamers - I've got these as "tail streamers" and they get RAVE reviews!- String LED Lights - My latest addition and I LOVE them!

I bought this for $250 right here about 8 months ago. I thought it was too much then, and now for some unknown reason, it's now DOUBLE that price. This was after Covid, so it had nothing to do with that, I imagine. It literally doubled in price right after I bought it, as if Schwinn saw they had a sale on this bike and were like "holy crap people actually want this thing -we can really screw people with this bike - let's double the price!" I would not buy this bike for five hundred bucks.1) Assembly is OK. The front fender was hitting the tire no matter how it was put on so I just left it off. The way it goes on with the single screw and unadjustable holes (no wiggle room) the fender just hits the tire. Instructions aren't great, but you'll figure it out.2) Function is ok. The left hand gear shift is off in that 3rd gear is somewhere between the 2 and 3 on the dial as is 1st gear being between 1 and 2. 2nd gear is 1/4 inch under the 2. Sometimes I really have to push hard into 3rd gear so the thing stops making noises. But overall when in a gear it's good and stays there. Brakes are great.3) You can't raise those dang handlebars. You just can't. And this is a flaw because if you're slightly too tall, you'll always be hunched down. I'm 5'9" and this bike is barely comfortable for me. The seat raises some and barely lowers at all. And - you can't swap out another bike seat post because this Scwhinn is some off-size so it won't work.4) It's not very comfortable. The seat is thin and even with a gel pad I bought it's not super comfortable at all. And since the handlebars don't go up any more you're sort of stuck with it as-is.But overall I do use it, because I bought it. It looks nice and has held up to near daily 8 mile bikes.I would not buy this for $500. That is way too much. For $500 the handlebars better raise and that seat better be dang comfy. And the gears should shift into the numbers on the shifter. For $250, I would consider another.

First of all, I only gave this bike 4 stars because it is made in CHINA! Close to impossible to avoid these days. Would prefer to spend my money in the U.S. or at least a country friendly to the U.S.There are a lot of comments here about damage during shipping and poor quality that I, fortunately, did not experience. The bike arrived in one box with no damage at all. It was well packaged and protected.I had to install the handlebars, front wheel and fender, seat and seat post, then peddles. Then I adjusted the brakes so they wouldn't drag on the rim.The instructions included are pretty good but they cover several models of bikes and different components so you need to make sure your following the right one.The wheels are true with no wobble and even had some air in the tires. I will add liners and heavy duty tubes in the tires to help prevent flats. Tires and wheels appear to be of good quality. I have had to make no adjustment to the derailleurs yet, they appear to work as they should. The seat looks awesome with the white stitching against a black cover that looks and feels like leather. It it mounted to a suspension seat post and has a quick release adjustment handle.The finish on the aluminum frame is excellent. Being all white is kind of boring and I know my wife wanted a different color but, it looks good with well applied graphics. The plastic fenders are also white and fit well centered over the tires. The rear rack is white and appears to be steel with a spring loaded hold down section on the top to hold items like a jacket. The rack has mounting holes on the rear where there is a bolted on reflector that could/should be replaced with an LED tail light. A headlight could easily be mounted to the handlebars.I was going to put a basket on the front but it appears it might interfere with the shifter and brake cables. The shape of the frame (it's not round tube) might prove difficult to mount a water bottle. I need to research this a little more.I also got her a pet trailer to tow behind the bike. The Booyah medium pet trailer comes with two hitches that attach to the rear axle shaft. The hitch is pretty thick but the shaft was long enough to secure it under the axle nut.At the time of this review the bike has not been ridden or even taken outside. These are first impressions from a guy who is not a bike expert but does have casual experience and is mechanically inclined. I have so far not found anything deficient with this bike, except where it's made. I would recommend this bike to anyone who is going to ride on smooth bike trails or streets. It's not a mountain bike!I'll write a follow up after she actually uses the bike IF we find there are any significant problems.

Easy to assemble. My wife likes riding round town on it as it's comfortable. Gears change nicely and smoothly.

La bici es hermosa y la calidad es bastante buena por el precio que pagué. La tuve que mandar armar en un taller por que no quería que algo saliera mal, sin embargo valió la pena. Es un poco más grande de lo que pensé pero aún así no tengo problemas al usarla. La bici es linda y muy cómoda. La recomiendo para gente que busca una bici funcional para el día a día o para los días de oscio.

I tried to change the seat to another I had previously purchased and it would not work at all even though it is a Schwinn seat. The seat that comes with it is good but I would have liked to have my cushier seat on.

Good bike. Building the bike was pretty straightforward forward with one exception. I had issues with the brakes and needed pro help, so I took it to a bike repair shop. Also, handle bars were too low, I am a tall rider and like to ride in an upright position. I bought an extended stem and the repair shop installed it. I was surprised that the bars could not go higher as it was described as a tall person bike (up to 6'2") but am happy with my purchase overall.
