I paid $33 for these. Price has been fluctuating, make sure you dont pay radically more without checking around. The paddles come with a little sticker with ratings on them for Speed, Spin and Control and they are all around 35-50. I gather that the ratings are from the manufacture, and there is no single uniform scale, so I dont know how much meaningful information this really conveys to a casual player. They play like any other casual use paddles I have ever played with -- of the fullsome rubber variety, not the thin wood with a thin rubber piece glued on. The price is right, and we have not seen any durability issues at all despite having these for months. We dont play that much its true, but we have an 8 year old that plays with his friends sometimes (i.e. the paddles have been abused) and despite that they are still fine. I am particularly impressed that none of the balls that came with this set got crushed or dented. In short, the quality is a lot better than the casual stuff I'm used too. If you are really competetive, you might want something better, but if you just want to mess around with your family and the occassional friends, these seem perfect. It might be possible to find the ultra-cheap stuff that I remember from playing growing up, but you'll regret it due to the durability issues that plague the ultra-cheap stuff. This set is definitely worth the money unless your competetive enough to get irate at the casual crowd.

This is the perfect starter set. I got it for the family so we could go to the local rec center and use our own balls and bats. It is a great value for that type of effort. I own a nicer bat for competitive play, but for getting out with the family it works great. The bats are quality enough for me to play close to my competion play. You can teach the family spin techniques, but even if you are not a serious player these are far better than the junk bats most community tables have.

Good price on a good set for the casual player. The wife and I have been using these paddles nightly since their purchase. The seem well made with only the tiniest separation of grip pad along a few edges (glues right back down). The quality is very good and the balls were all good quality as well. Pleased with my purchase. Would recommend for beginning ping pong players.

These are really decent paddles for family play time. No complaints. Not the best paddle I have ever used but certainly good for daily play. Control - good Spin - decent Speed - adequate Depending on the type of player you are, this paddle might be all you need. You can reference the numbers related to the aspects of this paddle and make a decision based on your strengths. The 6 table tennis balls that come in this pack are 3-star quality. No complaints.

Recommend for someone who just got their first table. I like that it comes with the 3 star balls, rather than the more flimsy 1 star. You might as well start with a good ball. The paddles have a reasonable foam pad and inverted nipples. Once you have been playing and developing a style, you will end up buying a more expensive, and specialized paddle.. but you need to first find out what your "style" is. The occasional player will be happy with the set on a long-term basis. When you get to the point that you actually notice that the rubbers are showing wear and having less grip, you are probably ready for an upgrade.

I am really impressed with the quality of this table tennis set! It is sturdy and well-made. We use this on a daily basis and it still looks new. The table top is a really pretty blue color. I love that it can fold up to take less space when it's not being used, and I love how easy it is to set up. I love that it can be set up for one player as well.

These paddles work great the the balls are bright so they are easy to see and high quality 3-star balls (much better than other 2 star and 1 star balls). Great product so far. UPDATE: After a couple months of use they are still working well. No complains. These feel like the "middle" of the spectrum of paddle - not super cheap feeling and not high quality, but perfect for beginners.

Look, the paddle handles are rough and unfinished, but not enough to give me splinters, and for the price, this set is an amazing bargain. The rubber and padding are surprisingly good - gives me the control I'm used to- and the balls work well and feel right. This is much better than hard-rubber foamless pips up paddles in starter kits, and hopefully these will send my kids down the path of good feel and technique that the hard ones wouldn't. Highly recommend this starter set for beginners, for people who need a set to play with friends, and for those who haven't had time to pick out their good paddle yet.

Tienen una muy buena calidad, ya llevamos un buen tiempo usándolas y han demostrado soportar los arranques de ira de los compañeros de juego, manos sudorosas, golpes a la mesa y demás castigos que les provocamos en nuestro camino a volvernos los mejores jugadores de ping pong de la colonia, no vamos muy bien en ese aspecto pero no es culpa de las raquetas. Tienen buen impacto a la pelota y algunos logran darle efecto con ellas, pero bien son personas que comprenden las teorías de la física perfectamente, las pelotas son de muy buena calidad y han resistido bastantes juegos donde solemos golpearlas con todas las fuerzas que nos brinda la frustración de que no nos paguen por jugar ping pong, totalmente recomendables.

Unos amigos y yo decidimos comprar este set porque jugamos diario. El diseño es bonito, la madera de las palas tiene buen "agarre" y no lastima. En cuanto al material que cubre a las palas, es una superfice lisa (con los puntos invertidos) que tiene buena fricción, por lo que se le puede dar a la pelota buenos efectos, buen control. Las pelotas no son las más ligeras y veloces del mundo, pero rebotan bastante bien y se tiene buen control sobre ellas.
