This item is perfect for my needs--tri-amplifying my mains speakers. Love that you can pick several types of filters and frequencies. It is very customizable. However, two years after use, this unit failed on my with blinking lights. This is with RESIDENTIAL use! The reports of Behringer product failures is undeniable. Not sure what professionals do except to buy backup components if they do want to use Behringer products. Funny thing, I ordered on Amazon when it was out of stock. I had a feeling it would be in stock within a week or two and sure enough, I got my email shipping confirmation. I noticed that in stock, the price jumped $50 to what other online vendors were selling at. Glad I got a deal on it!

I already have two of these, and with a small upgrade board added (really only necessary if you use the digital audio input) they make an excellent crossover. I can't fault the sound quality, and the flexible protection features make it easy to drive your system close to the limit without fear of melting any expensive driver units. I totally recommend using this product as a superior alternative to a passive crossover.

I am using this as a crossover for a church keyboard ("organ") system. It works well, with 6 channels of output. I am using 4 channels in mono mode for 1. Subwoofer, 2. Low frequency, 3. High frequency, 4. Full range for small monitor speaker. The professional installer who installed the main sound system in our church also used a DCX2496 in stereo mode to drive the main PA speakers, allowing for delays to be programmed for different speaker locations. This is more cost effective than another name brand unit (3 capital letters in the name).

After having listened to a modified version of this product, I and a friend both purchased one. My Behringer DCX2496 arrived and when energized, did nothing but flash all its leds and remain silent. I registered my warranty with Beheringer and filed a claim. I heard nothing from Behringer customer "service" so I contacted Amazon and took advantage of their return policy. I was very pleased that the dead device was picked up by UPS at my door and I had a replacement within three days at no further cost to me. I did not hear from Behringer for about a week and the eMail from their representative indicated they could do nothing until I sent them a copy of a printed receipt from Amazon and then they would contact me with a return authorization. I let them know I felt their response was tardy,ineffective and inadequate. When contrasted with the supurb response from Amazon, Beheringer was all that I characterized. My friend had a similar experience which makes two out of three of these products dead on arrival with identical symptoms. I am very pleased with Amazon but warn you all to be aware of this unreliability issue and the slow and bureaucratic response of Behringer to their customers.

I must review this order because as soon as the delivery guy handed it to me I noticed some unpleasant issues. It as shipped in it's original box that was all beat up and damaged. Usually amazon would put the item and its box in another box for safer transit. I don't know what happened with this one. When I turned on the unit it malfunctioned; the screen went blank and the LED's on the input A and output 1 just kept blinking. I had to tap it with my hand for it to come back on. It does this in the middle of gigs too. I am very disappointed with amazon with this order. Can't know who to blame for the malfunction!!! However, I am rating the unit 4 stars out of 5 because when it is working it is great to operate and makes the cheapest of speakers sound amazing.

This unit is meant for pro audio use, but is a boon for the hi fi hobbyist who wants to build multi way speakers, or upgrade any speaker to active crossover. I give it 4 stars because of 3 I've owned two have had issues related to ribbon cable connectors inside the box suffering weak connections, which results in sizzling sounds and erratic frequency response. It took me a while to understand what the problem was, and I sold one unit for a very low price because I thought it was defective - wish I hadn't done that! The one I kept I was able to fix when I finally learned how, and modify so that the output voltage matches typical home audio gear.

Overall this electronic crossover is a very good device. Does lot's of things with ease , apart from being just a electronic crossover unit. It offers delay , polarity , eq, compressing , limiting , and so on. Very good sound , dersatille , AD and DA conversions are completely see through. They don't exist on the sonic signature. Very pleased. Only complaint relates to the output section which is noisy. Hiss can be easily audible from the listening position 3 meters away, from the tweeters. I had to lower my power amp's level by 15DB and increase the output level from the crossover to make it allmost inaudible at the listening position. Apart from this, it works pretty well , the delay circuit works wonders , made my 4 drivers speakers sound as one . Very good device on a pretty budget price.

Premetto subito che lo uso in ambito hi-fi e per grandi diffusori auto costruiti. Realizzare cross-over passivi per sistemi di questo tipo di diffusori mi risulta costoso e con tempi lunghi. I suoi DAC sono più che onorevoli ed il fatto di avere gli amplificatori collegati direttamente agli altoparlanti mi porta vantaggi in termini di suono di gran lunga superiori ad altre scelte come ad esempio gli amplificatori che possono essere dedicati ed esprimere il loro carattere molto meglio. Su tutto una facility davvero comoda: si calcola da solo i tempi di ritardo tra le sorgenti.

excellent en aes/ebu si vous avez la possibilité d'atténuer les amplis en sortie ! par contre éviter les entrée analogiques en hifi pure !
