Good product...

I was a little hesitant because I don't really have software intended for use with a card reader. I wanted to get this to help with speed and accuracy in managing the inventory of some grocery store gift cards we give to families in need. It worked perfectly on our Windows 7 machine. You can scan to enter the magnetic strip information into any text field.To try it out, I opened a blank text document and just started scanning various cards from my wallet. That was kinda fun to see exactly what all is embedded in the magnetic strip of those cards.

Stopped working after a few months. Use this for clients in a therapy practice when there are just a few minutes at the end of a session before the next client. worked fine for a little while and then stopped. Has been really inconvenient to create workarounds. Do not recommend.

is not universal reader. I was looking for something more universal to replace the DL scanner we have. This version is more for credit cards or something and didn't play well with the software we're running

I am a small business owner an recently bought this product from ArcadiaID along with their "10 ID card kit for inkjet printers". I was a little disappointed to see I was not offered the prime shipping with this product as I did with the ID card kit but ordered it anyways. I seem to have the worst luck with mail whether my packages are sent to the wrong location, or take a week longer than I expected, which can drastically set me back as I run such a tight schedule. I received this product within 24 hours of purchase along with my ID card kit, even though the shipping said it could take up to a week (ordered Thursday afternoon, received Friday morning). Within minutes of opening the box I had both products up and running. I am a very technically challenged person, but wanted to give them a try for myself rather than waiting until Monday, when I had arranged to get help from an employee I had originally designated the one who would make everyone at the company new badges. I did not need him as I was able to get the ID's printed within minutes and was able to use this reader to flawlessly work with our new badges. Setting up the reader happened in seconds, and unlike our last set-up we have not had any difficulties, cards go through on the first try, and our cards do not get damaged by the reader, an unfortunate issue that happened with our last system which is why we needed new badges in the first place. The instructions were simple and clear, the products are professional yet very competitively priced, and the service was outstanding. I called ArcadiaID to express my gratitude, and the man I spoke to not only seemed very personable but really wanted us to be happy with our product. He really developed what I see as great symbiotic relationship for the future. This is a company that I will go back to time and time again, and I will be happy to give my business to. If you are thinking of buying a product offered by ArcadiaID, I strongly suggest you go through with it and have the great experience I did, something that seems to happen less and less in todays world. Do not buy! Never worked properly. Stopped working completely after only a few months. There are less expensive options available $20. This product is a waste of money.

I got this for testing purposes. When I plugged it in windows automatically found the driver, I swiped a card and it worked. The second time it didn't .... of course it helps if you put the card in facing the right way!!It works perfectly every time!

I could not get this to work, period.I have a Mac so may not be compatible.
