Slides right in. Works.
Slides right in. I got a 2-year warranty for $2.99. Not all of the lamps sellers offer an extended warranty. Update: The lamp lasted 4 years and one month. Bought another. Arrived in < 24 hours. Fixed TV in 10 mins. To remove the old lamp, don't just pull on the ring at the back. You have to lift to release the lamp and then pull. My TV would work for a minute or two with the old lamp then switch off for a minute and come back on. The new lamp fixed that. BTW: Once you replace the lamp on a KDF-50E2000, go to Menu, Setup, scroll to the bottom to find Replace Lamp, Start, and Yes. No you won't get the message about "Projection bulb near the end of life"

If you get a legit one, it will last at least a year. They never last as long as the original.
Having ordered a number of these over the years, you hope you get what you paid for. Most of the time you will only get about a year. I've never had one last as long as the original. There are so many clones of this bulb, many sellers try to pass them off as OEM. Most of the packaging is the same no matter who you buy it from which makes you feel like they are mostly clones and hope you get lucky with one that last 1 year instead of the guy who only gets about a month or two.

Worked for only 3 months
I had the old original lamp in my TV because we didn't watch it much in our basement but it said it needed a replacement. So I purchased this lamp and it was much brighter than the old one and slid right in. Was happy for about 3 months and then the TV started turning itself off and then back on- maybe a couple times a day at first, and then every few minutes. I see others reporting similar behavior in other reviews. I replaced the lamp with the $80 Phillips bulb and the problem went away. I also noticed the Phillips bulb was incredibly brighter than this bulb- the difference was amazing. The wire going into this lamp is a thin little uninsulated wire that looks like its molded into the plastic. The Phillips lamp has a heavy duty insulated wire going onto a threaded conductor with two nuts holding it in place. Anyway, I guess you get what you pay for, this appears to be much more cheaply made. Thankfully I bought the extended plan for this lamp and appear that I'll be getting my money back as a gift certificate.

VERY SATISFIED
So it was September 2011 that I began receiving the message on my Sony LCD TV, "Projection Lamp is nearing end of life, please replace." As this was my first experience with this and the warranty was no longer in effect, I began to research replacement options. After calling several TV repair facilities and getting replacement quotes ranging in the several hundreds of dollars, I decided to exercise the option of doing the work myself. Between the Sony online manual and U-Tube Videos I determined that replacement was going to be very simple. About a 5 minute job. Thus I ordered the Sony KDF-50E2000 120 Watt TV Lamp Replacement from Dynamic Lighting via Amazon. The price was great and included not only the lamp but also the housing, which is going to make the replacement that much easier. Delivery was quick and even received an e-mail from the seller checking for satisfaction. I would highly recommend this seller. I decided to leave the original lamp in place to see how long it would last before I replaced it. I am finally writing this long overdue review with the original lamp still in place and going strong. The TV picture is not quite as bright but still viewable. I don't anticipate any difficulties, but I have no doubt that when the time comes for me to finally replace this lamp I will be able to depend on this seller for any guidance. Thanks for the professional service.

Product arrived in good condition. easy to install
Product arrived in good condition. easy to install but there were no directions for install with product, had to look it up online. slight problem with projector, the nub on the front that triggers the button telling the television that the projector is installed right is too short. had to make my own modification to allow make it trip the switch. otherwise it just goes to standby. I've checked and found this is a problem with most replacements. easy to correct though. once installed the projector worked great and the images on the tv are like it were a brand new tv.

Not all replacement bulbs or sellers are the same...
Bought this Apr 2014 and last til Jan 2, 2015, lasted 8 mos. Was 1/4 the cost of the $120 dollar OEM bulb I purchased on Amazon 5 yrs ago, but that bulb lasted 4 years (from Apr 2010 til April 2014)! So you get what you pay for. Problem is you really can't tell what is OEM and knockoff with so many different sellers on Amazon. This one did show the warning that the bulb would need to be replaced soon every time we turned on the TV from the moment we got it. The difference I could see that the wiring soldering to it in the housing was bare in this one vs. the previous one actually had insulated wiring running through the housing that attached to the bottom of the bulb with a screw not soldering. Guess I will need to make sure the next one I buy looks like that or I'm sending it back.

Why Buy a New TV?
We recently purchased this lamp for our TV and it was super easy to replace. Over the life of the TV it was only the second time we replaced it. Though we handed the TV down to a family member the picture on our Sony Wega KDF-50E2000 TV is just great with the new bulb! He loved the TV and I'm sure this bulb will last as long as the last one. The bulbs are much cheaper than buying a new TV and the quality was great.
