Very glad I bought these boots!
Previously i had several pairs of keen targhee hiking boots which i really liked but the way they were made there was a seam that always rubbed uncomfortably on my big toe, causing me pain if i wore them for long periods of time. I was worried these boots might do the same thing but they dont. they fit wonderfully - lots of room in the toe box (i did go 1/2 size up from what i was previously wearing) but even with the spacious toe box my feet do not move around in them and i dont get any uncomfortable rubbing or blisters. these do say they are waterproof, but unfortunately they are not gore-tex so im sure the waterproof layer will only stay waterproof for so long, but thats the case with any kind of boot made from leather or suede. i hope these are as rugged as the targhee hiking boots were as i live in colorado and lots of the hiking i do is over terrain with sharp rocks which tend to destroy shoes which are made of man-made materials. so far they are holding up good and they are very very comfortable. oh - my only other complaint is the shoe laces - not a big deal but they are round laces which i never like - they come untied easily and you have to be careful not to accidentally trip on them when this happens, so i replaced the laces with half-round laces which are much better and stay tied. wish merrell would switch the kind of laces because i dont see any advantage to round laces.

Excellent Hiking boots, worth the price. My last pair of Merrells lasted 10 years.
These are excellent hiking boots. Comfortable and well made. I had my last pair for almost 10 years. The are warm so I don't need heavy sox ( at least not now). Good ankle support and toe room is perfect. Love the color.

Comfort right out of the box
Super comfortable lightweight shoe and great fit. Enough support without any foot fatigue after whole day of hiking. Outer shell seems to repel water I can rinse off the dust from hiking without problems. No blisters and comfortable fit right out of the box. I ordered my usual size. One time I fell off a stepping rock and submerged my foot entirely in river and whole shoe/foot was soaked. Even though water was saturated in the shoe I was able to hike out for another 2 hrs without discomfort! The shoes air dried for few days and are good as new! Definitely recommend and worth the purchase. Quality shoe. So great the whole crew got Merrells. They look decent and better in person, kind of expected ugly hiking shoes but was pleasantly surprised. We all got different colors and they are all pretty cute.

Good fit, good support and available in WIDE WIDTHS!
I purchased these to replace my old "men's" leather Wolverine hiking boots. We are planning a trip to the Grand Canyon and needed some light weight, comfortable hiking boots, however they will mostly be worn for hiking the woods in Northern WI where we live. I have wide feet and high arches, so always have a very hard time finding women's boots in a wide width. I usually end up purchasing a men's 6.5 or 7 and putting in arch supports, I so was very excited to find a women's hiking boot, in a wide width, and with arch support. I usually wear a women's size 8 or 8.5 depending on how they run, so I purchased both a size 8 and 8.5 for comparison. The 8 provided enough room for my toes in the width, but my big toe came a little too close to the edge of the boot. I don't like feeling the end of my shoe with my big toe when I walk and didn't want to depend on them stretching with wear. The 8.5 is a little loose, but better than too tight. They feel very comfortable right from the start. So far, I have only hiked a short distance in the woods around our house, but they were very comfortable, no aching feet or blisters. I am older and have started having problems with my arches and ankles. In time I may end up putting in special arch supports, but they so far feel very comfortable and feel like they will provide me with the support I need. The grip seems adequate, but were a little slippery though on wet leaves and rocks, but not as much as my insulated Wolverine's I wear in the winter. To be fair, we still had some melting snow in the woods that day, which can be a little icy and slippery. I avoided the usual spring time standing water, so can't comment on how waterproof they are. My socks did stay dry through the little bit of wet snow I walked through. What little mud I did get on them, brushed off easily the next day after it dried. I do wish they came in a darker color though, like the Moab 2 boots that are not waterproof, as I fear the light tan is going to look dirty and dingy pretty quickly. They are very expensive, but with my old foot challenges, overall, I am very pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend them to anyone, especially if you have problem feet!

Super comfortable nice fit!
I choose Merrell for the true to fit, and I like the Vibram sole. These boots are supportive yet lightweight, they are warm as well. I wore them in the winter in the mountains with snow on the ground and my feet stayed warm with wool socks. I have never got a blister on my hikes with these boots. Hikes are always in the mountains up and down for up to 6 miles at a time. My feet don't get too tired in these. Very comfortable boots in my opinion and I do have a hard time fitting shoes in general, finding that comfort level is hard, these have a high comfort level.

Great shoe, smaller than expected
A solid shoe for sure, but VERY tight. I wear a 7.5 in everything, so I went up a half size for this based on the reviews. The 8 was so tight my feet are still tingling from walking around the living room in them to try them out. If I reorder I will probably go a full size and a half up and get these in a 9. Because I couldn't use them comfortably and want to return them without any wear and tear, I took them off pretty quickly so I can't speak to anything else about the shoe. It does feel very sturdy, and all the detail work is great. It's a good looking shoe, with a reliable heft to it, and the soles look perfect for trails of any kind. Also I ordered the "Bungee Cord" color and just a heads up they're greyer than the advertised item image, and the details are brighter pink than the item picture. The review pics people are sharing that list this color are a much better gauge of the actual colors.

Really good hiking shoe.
They are very nice shoe, lightweight, comfortable walking around. I bought a 7 1/2 they do run small. I usually wear a seven. Was in a heavy rain and my feet did not get wet. That’s a plus they have good traction. and I think the price is good also.

Why haven't I bought these before?
There's a reason they are called MOAB! It's true. I generally wear a size 7.5 shoe and I bought a size up for my last Camino and these were perfect. Roomy toe box and super comfy! There are slightly heavy but nothing that I didn't get over quickly. They gave me the ankle support I needed and had thick enough soles where I didn't feel any stones or branches underneath. I would definitely buy these again and the price is great for what you get!
