Journey: Wrath of Demons

Where else can you get so many minotaur figures to use in you TTRPG?! The sculpts are very detailed for little money!

This game is a fun co-op game with friends! I know the Kickstarter burned a lot of people so take this with a grain of salt but if you like co-op games and minis this could be for you! Only thing I have to complain about it is sometimes the game can just become very samey as you try to defend one player from all the enemies, but for the price and quality of minis I feel like it’s worth it

I picked this up for 22$ while on sail. The game is basically a dungeon crawler with an Asian Silk Road Journey to the West theme. The game itself is decent, it is a typical dungeon crawler, its fun but nothing new. What is amazing is the production and the mini figures. Again, the game is decent enough, but I have had just as much fun playing with the figures and learning the background regarding the Monkey King and the Journey to the West. The game has a solo mode, which is ok, basically you play as all four of the characters. There are 9 modules in this game. Bottom line, is there is a lot of game here for the 22$ I paid. It is very thematic, it has a very good and detailed rule book, and it came with amazing minis. Would I pay the full KS price for this, no, but if you see this reduced, there is quite a bit of game here. Journey to the West and the story of the Monk and the Monkey King are an important part of Chinese Folklore, and this game is very thematic to it. I can't wait to bring the figures to our local war gaming store and paint them up. The first module basically teaches you how to play the game. If you have played dungeon crawler type games, you will basically know how to play this. It really does not do anything different. However, the really cool Silk Road setting makes this game stand out. Did I mention the minis? When I think that there are some modern board games that are simply a deck of cards and they want 25$ for it and when I look at how much game I got here, it is a no brainer. Really happy with this purchase. It has been fun to learn, punch out, do some research on and play.

My hobby is miniature painting. Therefore I purchased this game for the miniatures. The miniatures are very nice, large and with much detail. The Asian Genre is a welcome change. You don't find many game's of this style. It comes with 21 miniatures, the game costs $25 dollars that's about $1.20 each. You can't beat that price for such nice miniatures. The Game you ask. Well it's OK, that's why i only gave it 4 stars. I give it a rating of 7 for the game alone. A 10 for the miniatures alone. The way you move the pieces on the board is a little strange at first but you get used to it. Finally, The game for it's play alone being only $25 dollars it's a happy deal. For the miniatures alone buy it!
