Upgraded to this from the UB150, the difference is quite staggering. Interface is better and more intuitive sound and picture quality is excellent. Am fed up with robbing streaming services, and i quite enjoy watching movies again and again, so its 4K blu rays from now on. On added bonues is the quality of CDs being played tnrough my samsung soundbar....surprisingly quite good. Not a match for my seperates set up, but more than adequate for casual listening. Overall very impressed.

Believe me when I say this - the Panasonic DP-UB150 is THE very best affordable 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player on the market. This was the first player I bought for 4K viewing, and can confirm that is by far the best. Playback is both solid and reliable, so you can purchase with confidence. The player is nice and compact too. Remote is also of good size and quality, and always responsive. Playability is phenomenal. The picture & sound quality are second to none. Really quite impressive. I've tried and tested the model which come along after this one, and it wasn't a patch on the DP-UB150. Oh, and Panasonic 4K players beat Sony's efforts, hands down (my Sony 4K player barely lasted a month before it packed up working!). Lost a star because it’s quite noisy, otherwise a great 4k player, decent (if a little slow response time) remote, simple to use. Decent value.

While I was researching for the most capable (and affordable) Blu-Ray player that would enhance the performance of my LaserTV Projector and ALR screen, the Panasonic DP-UB20EB was the obvious choice. Its 4K high-precision Chroma Processor produces outstanding colours, bringing natural images to the screen. The images are vibrant with exceptional detail, creating a visually immersive experience! I was pleasantly surprised at the rich quality produced by the automatic upscaling of Blu-Ray (HD) content. Even some basic DVD discs resembled high-definition. The player made my projector’s Dolby Atmos sound richer and more captivating than ever before! I was particularly excited about the bass as it is now much clearer and well-defined. Furthermore, the ‘Dialog Enhancer’ feature makes it easier to hear speech without needing to raise the volume too high. Though the player’s Remote Control works well, I replaced it with the Panasonic DP-UB9000 Remote Control (bought separately) as I preferred its layout and it has a backlight for use in a dark room. Admittedly, the Panasonic DP-UB20EB is a considered purchase, if you are on a budget. But after assessing its overall amazing picture and sound quality, upscaling capabilities, HDR processing, and its smooth, uninterrupted playback, I can only conclude that this award-winning product delivers as promised. This beast offers sensational performance and I can confidently recommend it.

Plays all dvds. 4k and old ones. Brings old ones to life. 4k is like you're there. Great picture.

Got this to replace a Sony player I sent back as it froze and locked up during the first movie I played, Aliens. So I got this player and have played a load of 4k movies. Every movie has played flawlessly. If your looking fir a 4k player forget the cheaper models this is the player to get. Player is nice and heavy the Sony player was so light and plasticky. This has a solid remote and a screen counter which most don't nice to be able to see how long is left without having to use your remote. Got this with £50 off so very happy. Hope I get as many years from this as my last machine. Update 10/12/24 Unfortunately after just over a month this player has started to glitch. A lot of discs the sound will drop out for a couple of seconds but now it's full on picture breaking up and no sound at just around the 40 minute mark so having to return. Have read online that quality control on these can be a bit hit and miss and people have had to replace this player a couple of times before getting a good one. Will order another once I receive refund and hopefully will be second time lucky.

I have a Samsung 55Q95A TV. Unfortunately it only knows HDR10+. So I needed a good player that supports this format as well as future proof. Before buying this I watched 4K movies on by PS5, which wasn't bad. All I can say is that there is a difference in colors when using the UB820. What stood out to me was when I first seen Thor Ragnarok on PS5. The colors were OK but nothing spectacular. Honestly I couldn't really understand why others were praising it to be a color poping movie. Then I got the UB820 and I was amazed. The colors were more saturated and they did pop right of the screen. I had mine purchased from Amazon UK all the way to Romaina since here you can't find this model for 6 months now. And it was cheaper to buy it from Amazon. It was just the Panasonic player box. No extra protection or anything. I can't say I'm OK with this. It could have been damaged. But fortunately it arrived OK in about 4 days. The player is very silent. You don't even notice it when you watch movies. The menu is pretty straight forward. But you can feel the software feels old. The remote control is again just a mess of buttons clustered together, that I don't really need. And it's bulky. Just like your remotes from the 2000's. They could have made a smart remote at least. As for smart features, I have a smart TV so I won't watch netflix or youtube from the Panasonic. Also, if you have an external HDD with more partitions, this player will only recognize 1 partition. This is pretty stupid. My 10 year old TV could recognize the 2 partitions from my HDD. But overall the player does what it supposed too, it plays 4K movies and Atmos very well. The best for this price.

the player is awesome, it has everything you may need to have some quality reproduction of your blue rays but the interface is slow and cumbersome. I personally dont use it for media apps like netflix etc as i have a separate player(nvidia shield) but be aware if you buy and you have such needs. Unfortunately mine come with 1.70 firmware so i couldnt apply the multiregion mod as it's for 1.69 but a hardware mode is available as well in internet if you sre interested on multiregion blue rays and dvds. 4k are region free so no problem.
