The most non-BS diaper ointment on the market. Does what a diaper ointment should do: treat diaper rash and protect
Most effective, hypoallergenic, no-nonsense ointment for treating diaper rash. Most, if not all doctors recommend a zinc oxide base diaper ointment/cream to treat and prevent diaper rash. This one has three ingredients: Acitive ingredient: 20% Zinc Oxide Inactive Ingredients: mineral oil, petrolatum (petroleum). This product does what a diaper cream is suppose to do without fragrances, or "moisturizers" that can turn rancid. This product has done what the Burt's Bees product couldn't do. Nor could maximum strength Desitin with it's 40% Zinc Oxide content. This is the only product that doesn't cause excess irritation for babies with sensitive skin and allergies to fragrances, etc. There is no smell to this product at all. The fact that this product is made by a reputable pharmaceutical company is a bonus. This stuff adheres to skin to block out moisture, but it is easily wiped off fingers after application. Thank you for making this product available.

Great value, fairly good diaper rash cream
Super good value. Using it as diaper rash cream and it helps, but doesn’t form the think barrier like others do. We mixed it with equal parts white petroleum and that actually helped a lot.

Recommend from a dermatologist
A pediatric dermatologist recommended this product for its minimal ingredients (ie no fragrance, dyes, etc), its quantity and its cost. We have been using this for 6 months as a moisture barrier with plenty left.

pretty great stuff!
i originally bought this for my chickens, but ended up using it for my male dogs who i have to belly band 24/7 unless i have them blocked off outside in their fenced in yard. it works great in preventing diaper rash and keeps their skin from breaking down. i highly recommend this stuff! i've even used it on my belly roll flap in between and it clears up the rash over night. ( still working on that belly roll).....lol!

Excellent sun blocker
I have a paint horse with a lot of white that sunburns very easily. My equine vet told me to use a diaper or sunburn product containing zinc oxide on her face and nose. I tried name brands of diaper rash medicine and a sunblock product. Both were not only very hard to apply and spread out due o being so thick but averaging $10 per 2.5 - 3 ounce tube the cost was high. After 2 or 3 months fighting those products I came across this. After the first day of use I contacted my vet to tell her that if she has other clients needing a zinc oxide product to try this. This product is creamy and easy to apply. What took me 6 - 8 minutes before I can now do easily in 2 minutes. This item was some where around $10.75 for a 16 ounce jar or you can get a 4 pack for around $28 making it a super value when compared to the other products. I will continue to buy this.

The product seems great and may have worked, but my technique was lacking with use of this product
I am the caregiver for a near bed-fast elderly person. She arrived at her home from the hospital, via a six week stay in a nursing home, with EXTREME gaulding on her bottom, so much so that it was open and bleeding in MANY places. (This would be SUPER EXTREME diaper rash.) I tried to be sure she was clean and dry before applying a zinc oxide cream/paste, (this was the primary treatment at the nursing home.) I tried a 13% zinc oxide, a 13% zinc oxide with a antifungal ingredient (Baza with miconazole nitrate 2%,) then upped the zinc oxide to the 20% Rugby, which seems to be an excellent product. I want to add, this condition had been going on for eight+ weeks, with different agents used in the nursing home from paste to powders. After a couple weeks at home with no improvement I was about to seek professional help, and decided to give one last try using a different approach. I went to Wal-Mart and bought a $10 hair dryer/blower that has a cool shot button on it, (heat seems to aggravate the condition and cause wetness from oozing blood.) After cleaning and blotting the area, (IT WAS TO RAW AND OPEN TO WIPE,) I used the dryer's cool shot mode to completely dry the area. I then applied (via the sling method ☺) Desenex powder with 2% miconazole Nitrate, to the area. Within 2 days it was almost well; it was no longer bleeding and within two more days was smooth with just some redness left. I believe, as well known by everyone, that dryness is paramount no matter what method used. The problem is, when the area is terribly raw, getting the area dry; the blow dryer was a great way to insure dryness. I hope this may help those with a stubborn PAINFUL condition.
