Excellent Monitor. Love the Productivity!
As a programmer this has been a great productivity booster. It is connected to the docking station of my Dell Prescision laptop. Using the DisplayPort Connector it worked the first time it got connected. I was surprised. The picture is gorgeous and the refresh rate (30) has not bothered me. I'm not gaming with it. I love both the resolution and the fact that it allows for 4 full size applications to be seen at the same time. Even better, you are not limited to that combination. You are free to choose what you display and how you lay it out given such a large work area. I had one issue where the monitor stopped displaying the full resolution. It turned out to be a connectivity issue between my laptop and the docking station. I spent a long time tracking it down because I blamed the monitor/driver combination. I was wrong. Be aware that text can be somewhat small. The text is smaller than in a full size monitor. I set Windows to 125% display mode and that works well for me. Your mileage may vary. Some of the people I work with have objected to the size of the text. I don't mind it, I want the extra information on the screen. That is more important to me. All in all an excellent purchase, even at the price. The productivity gains have made it worth it even in the 4 weeks I've had it.

Asus Support where is it??
I just received my monitor yesterday. I installed it late last night and played around with it a little. As I expected everything was much smaller. Still was great and very happy. This morning I fired up the PC and the display was totally different, the icons were much larger, and getting mixed resolution on the display. For example the IE 11 browser, the favorites bar was much larger text but the site I selected was at the expected resolution. I worked at attempting to figure it out for a couple of hours and gave up. Called Asus for support. In the 1 1/2 hours I spent on multiple calls on hold and listening to that stupid music I finally gave up. I sent them a complaint and said if I didn't get it resolved in the next few hours I was going to return the monitor. After spending all this money I expect support and I didn't get it. I like the monitor but it is useless in the state it is in now. I think I jumped in too soon I should have waited for all the bugs to be found and fixed. Just my opinion and experience.

Great monitor, lots of early adopter issues
This is a great monitor. Also, this is a new technology item - and as such it causes all early adopter issues. So, having this very nice 4K monitor, the top of the line graphics card (Nvidia Titan), both connected with DP 1.2 cable, I wasn't able to make it work. Search "displayport MST" for details - in short it is VERY painful to setup this monitor under win8, and it is not possible to set it up (for 60hz) under any other OS, including latest linux with latest nvidia proprietary driver. ASUS stance is that at the time the monitor was manufactured, VESA standard was not updated to include 4K/MST, and they will certainly issue firmware update in the future. Good to know, but the truth is that today, having an ASUS monitor connected to top NVIDIA card in ASUS motherboard plainly does NOT work. Sad :( p.s. This monitor works perfectly in 30 FPS and picture is beautiful. 4 stars for all the trouble making it work (sometimes) in 60HZ mode.

the ASUS PQ321Q seemed like something made by morons
It took me less than 3 minutes to decide to return this monitor. For a 4K monitor, I confirmed its technical accolades, thus the 2 stars. But, coming from the ease of use of Dell monitors in Dual monitor and PC setup, especially the UltraSharp U3011 30-inch I was trying to replace, the ASUS PQ321Q seemed like something made by morons, who have no clue how people us monitors in the real world, outside their factories. My Dell monitor has the power button right in front and conveniently in the lower right edge. This ASUS monitor has the power 'switch', yes, switch, in the back, right of center. To turn it off, each time, you have to get up and, somehow, reach behind the monitor, over or under. Whaaat? In my dual monitor, with dual PC setup, Dell put the controls, for switching from one PC to the other, just above the power button. It's cheer pleasure switching between PCs on the Dell monitors. However, this ASUS monitor has the controls, again, in the back, right of center, of the right edge. Therefore, in a dual monitor setup you have no access to the controls of the left monitor. Accessing the controls on the right monitor, in this setup, is no peace of cake either. ASUS designers ever review their designs or test for real world use before cranking out these archaic non-user-friendly monstrosities on an assembly line?
