Great Tampons
i have bought cora tampons before. this is the first time I’ve bought them without an applicator because i never use it anyway. I love them! As a new tampon user, these are great for starting out especially since they’re small

Quality, absorbent tampons - easy to use
These tampons are simple, work great, and absorb a lot of liquid. I do use them in conjunction with pads since my body is different after childbirth. I’m very happy with these!

PERFECT Tampons
I am always looking for ways to reduce waste and plastic in my life. Menstrual products are an area that I’ve struggled to find a good balance of performance/comfort and low environmental impact. Then along came Cora Tampons. First off the bat, they come in a tiny little box! Seriously so small! Even less waste. The tampons are easy to unwrap and are tiny themselves. I found the lack of an applicator to be a non-issue. It’s easy to insert and no pinchy applicator creating more plastic waste. I’ve found these to be the most comfortable tampons I’ve used, ever. Not sure if it’s the size or shape, but I can’t feel these and I usually can other tampon brands and that’s super uncomfortable. But not only are Cora tampons comfortable to use, I’ve found the absorption to be better than the conventional big name tampon brands. Plus on top of all that, they’re 100% organic cotton which I feel good about putting in my body and in my support of organic cotton production. These are my brand from now on!

Pretty good, not perfect
Overall in terms of reducing waste/environmental footprint--these Cora non-applicator tampons are good, not great. (see reasoning below) Pros: -super soft & easy to apply (doesn't rub or feel uncomfortable at all!) -you'll be shocked by how much these tiny things can absorb--for reference, each one un-used is about the size of a bullet! Cons: -since I was attempting to reduce my waste from tampons, I was a bit disappointed to discover each one of these tampons is wrapped in an individual plastic covering. But if comparing these to a typical tampon with huge plastic applicator & plastic wrapper, these will definitely reduce your waste, but NOT eliminate it completely. So I think these are a step in the right direction for those who are reluctant to try "menstrual cups", etc. Maybe in the future Cora will re-think the individual plastic wrapping, but for now, I will be sticking with these as I still feel these produce much less waste than any other tampons on the market, and are super comfortable while getting the job done!

Non-Applicator at it's finest
One of my favorite tampon brands! I was so happy to see that the non-applicator ones were available!

Good
Good tampon easier to twist open than ob. Prefer ob because its cheaper

Finally, Non-Plastic Light Tampons!
I recently had to quit using a cup. This is my first time buying tampons since about 2015. Now, I’ve always been the sort who only needs the “regular” absorbency on the first day or so. However, back in about 2010, the common cheap store brands stopped carrying normal cardboard applicator types in light size. Only ridiculous plastic brands like Tampax Pearl were selling the light kind. O.b. was otherwise my go-to, but their smallest size is “regular”. I had mostly given up and for years just used a pad on the last ~2 days and coped with the resulting rash (one reason I transferred to a cup back then). Imagine my surprise when I not only found a non-plastic-applicator tampon, but one without an applicator entirely, like o.b! Cora *is* a bit pricey compared to o.b. (just under twice the price), but since I only need maybe 5 or 6 a month to finish out the last couple days, it’s not a huge price hit. In every other way, Cora looks and acts identical to the o.b. ones. To have non-applicator tampons in the light size is absolutely great. Anyone who has a light-to-moderate flow but doesn’t want to be littering plastic all the time would be well served to get these guys!

Some pros and cons
I'm through my second box of Cora, and honestly, I'm not completely sold yet. They are a pretty straight across replacement for OB style, no applicator tampons, which is great. Low waste, low profile in a pocket and really absorbent. I have observed much less discomfort to my periods since switching to organic- much less cramping, and fewer other symptoms- total win! The Cora tampons themselves are performing pretty well, but I have had a few problems with strings broken right out of the package, or the tampon partially coming apart when I use the string to flare the end. Not dealbreakers, just something to watch for. I'm going to order another few boxes and give them a few more months.
