Excellent alternative to permanent mount ladder
My Defender's roof rack is too tall to reach without a ladder of some sort. Not sure I want a permanent mount side ladder as JLR sells or a rear mount ladder as Proud Rhino sells. Both require some drilling and/or bumper removal. So I chose this Front Runner which works perfectly, does not interfere with vision or create wind noise and can be easily removed.

Slips
The first time I used this the steps managed to slip all the way to the bottom of the tire. I place it on the unused new spare tire on my Jeep. Next I had a strong friend really tighten the step. I weight 125. When I went to use the steps they again slipped down suddenly so that I had to grab on or would have fallen. I don't think my tire is extra slippery. I find the steps dangerous and returned them. I have other Front Runner products I have been happy with.

Works as advertised
I tightened the strap around the tire per the online instructions and it supports my weight, 210 pounds, on both steps just fine. The tire is an unused all terrain BF Goodrich KO2. I don't know if it would work as well on a common street tire and those experiencing problem may not have bothered to go online and read the instructions. The strap has to be doubled back on both ends of the device and correctly looped through the ratchet.

Cosmetic but useless product
This is a useless product. It is too high up to be able to actually use as a ladder and when you do step on to it, the steps slide because they donโt grip the tire tight enough with the provided strap regardless of how tight that you tighten it.
