Review: A Great Little Camera! - I was shopping in desertcart for a Lumix DMC-LX7 and I stumbled upon this Little camera FOR LESS THAN $80! I thought "why not?". It arrived on Christmas Eve, so I charged the battery (less than 3 hrs) and gave it to my two year old granddaughter. She LOVED it. While the menus may not be intuitive, the user interface - automatic focus and exposure make it possible for a two year old to use it, and to take some pretty good photos. EVERYONE wants to pose for a two year old photographer. Pretty fun, When she's not using it, I carry it around in my pocket. I know that there is the potential for getting a stuck lens, but for <$80, I'm willing to take that chance. If you don't have a camera with you, you just don't get the shots you want. My wife likes to borrow it because it takes much better pictures than her iPhone. Image quality is good (maybe not as good as a Leica, but pretty good!). I like Canon's warm flesh tones, it eliminates my desire to color correct every shot. LOVE IT!
Review: DOA - With update - Well, I can't necessarily speak to the quality of the item when it arrives with an LCD that doesn't work. So, I'll give it a 1. The reviews make this seem like a fun little spare camera (though why would anyone buy a point and shoot to legitimately "get in to photography" is beyond me) to keep around. That's what I'd have used it for. Until next time... Edit 6/11/14: after purchasing another one of these (same model/color) from a different source (the DOA camera did come from desertcart though) I can give a real review. It is definitely a nice little point and shoot. It's fun to use. The different photo settings allow a little fun when using it, and the vivid setting is wonderful when outside. The miniature setting REALLY does give the listed effect, love it! This thing can get really, really close to your subject. IT may take a sec or two to focus, but it gets there. I'd upload samples if I could. So, I am changing my rating from 1 star to 5 stars. It does exactly what I need it to do, and then some, so, I am very happy with this camera. Do not get this to "get into photography" as it doesn't allow the control you need. But, it's not supposed to - you point then shoot...

## Questions & Answers

**Q: what is included with the camera purchase?**
A: not much. Charger, battery, wrist strap, instructions. You need to buy an SD card. They are not longer included. And there is no case. Love the camera though. Takes great shots and is easy to learn. compact for carrying around in my wife's purse.

**Q: What kind of battery? can I just plug this camera into the wall socket to charge like the Kodak I have?**
A: No you can not plug the camera into the wall to charge it. This camera has a rechargeable battery and comes with a separate battery charger. The battery charger plugs into the wall but the battery has to be removed from the camera to charge it. I would suggest you have an extra battery and have it charged so you can switch them when the battery in the camera needs charged. You can get extra batteries and chargers from Amazon or at local shops like Best Buy or Staples. Hope this helps.

**Q: does this have optical image stabilization?**
A: They say it has Intelligent image stabilization (IS). I don't see anything that says optical bit I believe the "IS" in the model number is optical. I found a video about it here along with other videos about the camera Go here for more info. http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/cameras/digital_cameras/powershot_elph_115_is#Features

**Q: is this camera comes with usb cord**
A: No it doesn't.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ELPH 115 Digital Camera
*by K***R on September 24, 2014*

Great little camera that needs very little adjustments. We use it daily and only wish it would click faster to catch our new puppy in his antics. It's not as slow as our A30 Canon in snapping shots was but still maybe that's a digital problem. Can't really complain, we just keep clicking. The screen is a good size so you can see the picture without difficulty. BUT, if you are outside and it's very bright out, you will have trouble seeing on the screen what you are trying to take and need to guess you have it, there is no view finder. For the average photog it's a good buy and takes really nice clear shots. A November addition to my September review. Be very careful of dropping, bumping or whatever with this little camera. Ours met the side of the house and then the deck when icy steps took my husband down. The camera then said "lens error, restart". Not happening. Need to send for repair or replacement but need to buy a magnifying glass so I can read the insurance plan received from Canopy.
