This part works perfectly for me! I didn't want to throw my favorite headset away and decided to at least try fixing it on my own. Shipping made this a bit pricier than I would want it to be but I can't complain. Pretty sturdy piece. BTW, it is important to note that pin 3 is actually the ground and pin 4 is the microphone. I found this out while playing music with pin 1 and 2 plugged in. When testing the audio for the ground, it matched up with the pin 3 slot (touch the copper wire to the metal). When I put the ground wire to the fourth pin it was very distorted audio, confirming it to be the third pin. To make sure pin 4 was for the mic, I simply did a mic test. Hopefully the seller fixes their description and photo.

This worked perfectly for making my own composite video and audio input cable for a vizio tv I have that uses a 3.5 mm jack on the back.

Absolute garbage. Even with all the screws backed off, only one pole opened enough to allow a wire to be inserted.

I purchased this to help me troubleshoot the connections to Turtle Beach Ear Force Recon 50x for my kid's Switch. The connector is labeled with "L, R, V, and Ground" for the respective pin locations of "1, 2, 3, and 4." I found that pins 3 (V) and 4 (GND) are swapped on this connection as pin 3 should be Ground and pin 4 should be the microphone for the TRRS 4 Pole connection. I would also recommend either tinning the wire tips or using ferrules to ensure clean and tight connections.

i couldnt find a speaker jack at the time and i thought this would work. i couldnt wee a wiring diagram, it gives you the order of the wires numerically, 1234, but the plug has i think symbols. i see a ground symbol, and letters, i,r,v,ground. i see better, than i read, i still couldn't figure out the order of the wiring. maybe though the jack worked, on 3 an 4 way. i didnt. inserting the wires was difficult, was not much room. i havnt been keeping up the terms of plug, technology for years, old buzzard i am. however, i did see a three-way, jack and wires, just before i wrote this. i will try it.

Fixed my son's Turtle Beach XBOX Headset. The microphone didn't work. Secured it with a zip tie so he can't pull it apart. It's not pretty but no soldering needed and continues to work.

Great adapter that can be wired as needed for correct output. It's small and compact and reduces bulk many other methods introduce to a wiring harness.
