Just like the bug zapper grandma used to have! This thing works! We were being sucked dry by mosquitoes at the end of the summer and it was just intolerable to be outside. I got this a few days later got it hung out on my back porch and proceeded to massacre about two mosquitoes per second for the next three weeks. You could see a gray carpet of dead mosquito carcasses under this thing every morning. It was a glorious sight! It took out plenty of nasty cut worm moths as well. Highly effective almost frighteningly so. When I stood outside and watched it, it sounded like machine gun fire as the mosquitoes were flying into the bars. Seems to be plenty powerful to roast even the fattest moths. You get what you pay for. It is a little more expensive then the XYZ brands, but I would consider that an investment because you’ll get to use this for more than one year. Truly was a plug-in play system very easy to set up. Simply plug it in and you’re good to go. The outside cage seems plenty sturdy and the slits are small enough and far enough away from the electrical element to make sure you don’t accidentally touch it with your finger. My only minor complaint is that I had to unplug it each day and gently brush the dead moth carcasses off the electrical bars with a small twig by reaching through the safety great. After I got all of that cleaned off and my stick out and away, I plugged it back in for another day of reading my backyard of the insect hordes.

Nice product, works well but lacks a switch to turn it on or off , only plug snd plsy and unplug to stop It will be a better product if the company or the manufacturer incorporate a dusk to dawn as well

I had this brand many years ago. I'm glad they are still around. In my opinion it is still the best Zapper out there.

This zapper works very well! Bought it to kill mosquitoes as ours were out of control. This model killed so many bugs every night that I needed to blow it out the next morning. I'm not certain that mosquitoes were being killed, but the population dropped significantly after putting this up. Would buy again if this one breaks.

I have purchased other bug killers. this does work like the other killers.this however is with a superior design . has much more electric power on the high voltage which blows away larger bugs. requires cleaning but not all that much. also the easiest to clean. the other ones I have require daily cleaning with a design that HOLDS the bugs.. this unit allows most to fall down out of unit.. the only issue one may have is this is a bright light .. I have it under some big trees where the bugs hide come out of so it it not offending for me.. no flying insects biting in my yard .. in the past you could not go out when the sun gets very low in the sky or on a cloudy day. UPDATE so now 2018 still working . lamp did fail replaced ... kills flying insects .. very effective but I do at times in the season must have to clean it .. also keep this operating in the shade .. direct sunlight can damage the unit. also use a proper extension cord for outdoor use. design is very strong .compared to the black flag design . unit will create loud zap sounds so this is an issue for some , but I keep it 25 ft from the house.. under a tree open , space all around this in shade , kills insects 24hrs .. with all the zapping insect killing , I am surprised it still works as good as new. I do have the black flag insect killers .. these still work but I had to modify the design. the black plastic is improper for this use with 5,000 volts.. the insects create a carbon track shorting out the voltage.... I cut out the grid spacers and installed clear silicone sealant between the grids .. the design also has electronic defects .. the capacitors in the unit blew .. I had to replace them .. not reliable ..
