How long is the cord?

Hi, The cord is about one metre long. I have used my blender quite a lot and have no problem with the cord length, but then I suppose it depends on your kitchen lay out. If it is of help I was hesitant when I purchased my blender but am so pleased that I did, it is excellent value for money. Works efficiently and joy of joy no splashing! Good luck if you decide to purchase.

is this blender good for making soups with vegetables such as leeks?

Yes, it is. Whatever you want to blend fruits/vegetables need to be chopped up/sliced up a bit
