Works exactly as stated.
The 2 pictures show the flat back buttons that I used to the tool to cover them. It was super easy to use. Would recommend this product to anyone.

Cheap price cheap material
I don't like writing scathing reviews. But I used a upholstery fabric which is thicker, more durable, for a tufted headboard project. Bought snap buttons with no teeth on the inside and the rubber mold worked perfect. Sad part is, if you don't have the strength of the incredible hulk, you aren't getting that cheap plastic cap to force the back of the button I side said button! Did I mention that the little blue cap you see in the description is weaker and thinner plastic than a milk jugs cap. Trying to clamp one slippery, stubborn thing into another slippery stubborn thing results in lots of cussing, frustration, and the need for adult beverages. Did I want this to work like a charm? Well yeah! Maybe I need to get guns like hulk or Thor to make a few fabric upholstered buttons. Unsure. But one things for sure, the cap can't handle thick fabric. If you were using toilet paper thin fabric, and the one ply septic safe stuff not the super kush stuff, it would work no problem. But upholstery fabric, girl or guy, turn around and save yourself the trouble of contemplating your life choices and your ability and view of your skill lacking, over a silly cheap-o plastic cap. Oh and ps. Most of the button backs bent before they ever achieved their goal of clipping under the buttons rim. Am I doing something wrong? Do I feel like the top dogs give us cheap crap so we can't make our own so we rely on their slave labor made materials and cheap particular board furniture? The world may never know!

Just what I needed to use with the buttons I bought. The little helper that makes the job easier. Worth buying.

Get the job done
My only complaint is that after a few uses it kind of loses its firmness. Maybe a harder rubber would work but after making 33 buttons this one is kind of loose now.

Disappointing
Why is it not possible to leave No Stars? The pink plastic portion of this kit, used to press the backing into place, Cracked prior to the 1st covered button even being completed!!! I've emailed and requested replacement from the seller. Will update review if it is replaced and withstands normal use. Very disappointed.
