Classic film. Give it a view.

I used to watch this back in the day on HBO. It was funny then, & it still holds up today. The cast & the cameos are a treat. Judge Reinhold plays Jack, a college grad being -thrown- up the ladder of a corrupt mega-corporation. The minute you do, you're screwedThis is good, plain fun!I was worried when I saw that the DVD aspect ratio was listed as full-screen (1.33:1), but this comment on the Amazon customer review by Nicholas Moore "nicklesm17" confirms what I've seen on my new DVD --Floridante says: The release is in anamorphic widescreen, but unfortunately it is the wrong aspect ratio. The title credits are presented in the original ratio of 2.35:1, everything else was reduced to a 1.85:1 ratio via pan & scan.-- Good enough for me! I first discovered this jewel of a movie in the bargain bin of a video store that was going out of business in the late 1980s. My husband and I loved it so much that we still quote from it to this day. But we loaned it out to someone who never brought it back years ago, and I thought I would never find it again. I was thrilled to find it on Amazon.Even though it almost 25 years old, is so full of biting sarcasm and comedic commentary on big business and greed that it is socially relevant again in today's economic climate. It follows the unintentional assent of a Senator's son (played by Judge Reinhold) from an entry-level position to the upper echelons of international mega-corporation, INC International (that makes everything from nuclear war-heads to softer, more absorbent toilet paper) in a hero's journey format. He meets a series of meatheads and mentors to help him (with is also unintentional) along the way, including a stressed out PR man played by Rick Moranis, a former power player who finds himself on the way down (literially) played by Danny Devito, and an ambitious office slut played by Jane Seymour. Richard Masur is well cast as the deadpan guide who accompanies the hero on his absurd rise through the corporate infrastructure, and Don Novello is memorable as the chauffeur who keeps missing the turn to Allentown. I think you will enjoy it.

To this day, I cannot understand why this movie is obscure. I believe it is a rare pearl from a great decade. To this day, my brother and I quote this movie soup to nuts. We are the only ones we know who even know about it. It is a circus of 80s cameos on par with Cannonball Run.

Just can't let this one die. Classic movie with funny people.

This is a very humorous and special movie. With tongue firmly planted in cheek and heaps of cynicism the script and images present a funny but lesson-filled view of big business. "Jack" wakes up to a new job in a huge firm where he is "mentored" through experiences from which watchers get plenty of good laughs. From a serious perspective, viewers can recognize lessons in leadership and management that can be taken to heart. I feel this movie should be shown and discussed in every Business School.

if you have never seen this, take the time to do so, its great! it has several cool characters from the 80's, a real tribute, even Father Guido Sarducci (a fictional character created by American comedian Don Novello) providing my favorite line "You ladies want to listen to the new Julio Iglesias tape" .......it doesn't get better than that. Judge Reinhold, Richard Masur, Eddie Albert, Danny Devito, Rick Moranis, Jane Seymour, its got them all, if only for a short while. great movie!

The DoJ, FTC and SEC should use this as a training aid for their people.Made in 1985 the contents of Head Office still hold true to this day.It's non-stop comedy is only matched by how disturbingly accurate Corporate America actually functions inside and outside the US.This movie was banging on all nine cylinders ...Great actors, good storyline, cheap price. Highly recommended for everyone 18 and up!
