Are the PicassoTiles as good as MagnaTiles?

I think they are better - here’s why. There are a few videos that imply the Picasso Tile magnets are too weak, but I disagree. Maybe for an adult they are, but our grandchildren aged 2-1/2 - 3 were having some difficulty separating the Picasso’s due to magnet strength. Trust me - stronger magnets would NOT be a good thing. As the are, I would choose the Picasso every time - for the sake of the kids!

Are magna-tiles compatible with the picasso brand? Picasso doesn't make any accessory peices like cars or windows.

Can you build just as high with Picasso tiles as you do with magna tiles

Yes, my kids have the magna tiles at daycare and we have the picasso tiles at home and we don't see differences related to functionality.

Is a set of 100 plenty or is this kind of like a starter kit?

It depends on the kind of things your kids want to build. For us it wasn't enough. In my opinion they put to many squares in the set and not enough of the other shapes like the small and long triangles. for us it is a lot better with a set of 200 then 100. If my kids didn't play with them everyday like they do I don't think I would have ordered a second set. I hope this helps.
