MBRP S5014AL 3" Cat Back, Single Side Exhaust System (Aluminized Steel)

I have a 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3l Crew Cab. This is a great product and was easy to install. Just kept all connections loose until the end so that I could get the positioning just right. The OEM hangers were all in exactly the right spot with no modifications needed at all. Ran into a minor snag when I broke a stud trying to take off the nut because my particular truck has the bolt/stud pressed into the catalytic converter flange. Used a torch to cut the rest off and create a whole large enough for the included bolt. Total time to install including the delay was about 45 minutes. The sound is just right, nice low rumble when you step on it but not annoying inside the cab. Could tell an immediate difference in horsepower. Be aware that this product is the Aluminized model which indicates that it is not black like the picture shows. Kind of a surprise when I opened the box but, looks nice. All in all I would recommend this product.

Excellent value for the money. Low drone on the highway, perfect fit (05 z71 extended cab), super easy to install. It looks great and sounds great.

Ignore what the what the Check Fix Your Vehicle said, MBRP confirms that it will fit the above truck, and it does. I would give a 5 star if it includes a do nut shape exhaust gasket or at least tells the consumer it is needed. Purchased the gasket from Advanced Auto for $13 with coupon. The MBRP mid pipe connection lip to the cat converter pipe is different from the factory which does not require gasket. That's where the gasket comes in handy. Pipe hangers locations matched with the existing rubber mount. Little bit loud than I would like to during idling but it is a "performance" style so can't complaint. Though it is not loud in higher RPM. Installation is not hard, about 1 hour and I have to spend $60 for a muffler shop to remove the 2 OEM cat conv flange studs/bolts that were stuck in the old flange (that has nothing to do with MBRP). Hope my experience will help

Great exhaust system. Make sure you get everything lined up before you tighten any of the clamps. I used high temp primer and paint to cover mine. Get some noise inside but I do have headers and a better y-pipe. Worth the price if you take care of them beforehand. Make sure you buy at least two 3" exhaust gaskets to go between this setup and the y-pipe. I had one and the exhaust would move back and forth after about a month of being installed. I just ordered a two pack on here and hoping I only need one but I'll have an extra if I need. I used 1/2" bolts with washers and lock washers on both sides to make sure the mounts didn't move. The pipe moves inside of the mount. Was originally 5 stars but dropping to 3 since having this problem after having to buy a gasket that wasn't in the directions.

Product is good. Had it for about 6 months now. Deep, nice sound. Just a tad louder than stock and very bearable on the highway... don’t even know it’s not stock if the radios on on the highway. Was thinking about throwing a resonanator in and an electronic cut out before the muffler and resonator but I just like to tinker with stuff so I guess that’s over the top. Product is not black it’s aluminized steel with a stainless tip

Great sounding exhaust for the money! A little info. So I bought this exhaust for my 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 crew cab. When it came in I immediately tore into it. Ripped the old exhaust out and put this one in. Everything was good until I bolted it up to the stock down pipe flange. It would not get tight so I figured the other review about needing a donut gasket was correct. But before I bought one I emailed support and sent a few pictures. Support immediately said hey your flange is on backwards! I was so use to always using the flat face of a flange as the mounting service. Boy was I wrong. Flipped the flange around and tightened up no problem and zero exhaust leaks. So basically the flanges will nest into each other and no gasket needed. Hope this helps others.

Says it will fit any vehicle application. It is wrong. I ordered for a single cab long bed, hangars are in different spot, the box says crew cab shortbed, and extended cab short bed

Installed on my 2005 GMC Sierra 5.3L crew cab. Sounds like a beast, but not obnoxious. Aggressive tone under acceleration but very little cabin drone. Most noticeable around 1300 RPMs, but not horrible at all. My fuel economy hasn't changed because I can't keep my foot out of it. If I ever have to get another truck, I'll get another one of these as well. Also, the one in the picture is NOT what you get. This item number is for aluminized SS with a chrome tip, which is what I wanted.
