Great EDC and Low Risk Duty Holster!
I have purchased several of these holsters and I absolutely love them. I love how secure the Safariland ALS retention system is and feel very comfortable carrying the holster everyday and, when I was working security, I would use it as a duty holster at low risk events. They fit my holsters very well and function perfectly as Safariland says they should. I feel like these holsters have been a good investment and great value for my money!

Highly recommended for carrying with a weaponlight
The Amazon product description claims this holster variant only fits the M&P 9/40 + SureFire X300, but the holster I received perfectly fits my M&P 9 4.25" barrel (no manual safety) with Streamlight TLR-1s weapon light attached. Build quality and craftsmanship are excellent, on par with nearly every Safariland product I've purchased. Surprisingly, the holster securely fits my pistol both with and without a weaponlight attached. However, if you're planning to carry concealed without the weaponlight for any meaningful length of time, I'd strongly recommend purchasing an additional non-weaponlight version of this holster, as the weaponlight accommodation adds significant bulk. The Automatic Locking System (ALS for short) is what Safariland's name for a holster with a thumb release lever. It's easy to learn while offering better weapon retention than a traditional thumb snap, but there is still a learning curve to it. If you're using this holster for armed duty or self-defense, be sure to regularly practice drawing and reholstering your weapon. Upon testing out this holster, I noticed that having a weaponlight attached increases the friction between the gun and holster (compared to my other non-weaponlight compatible ALS-equipped holsters). Not a dealbreaker by any means, just something to know and train yourself to expect. This holster's concealability is decent but not magical; it's still holding a full-size pistol with attached weaponlight. I can carry concealed effectively under a winter coat, but I'm not planning to use this holster during the summer. Using a snugly-buckled gun belt and the included paddle mount, the holster rides relatively close to my body. Safariland's standard paddles and belt loops hold pistols lower on my beltline than I prefer, so I've replaced the included paddle with their 565BL Hi-Ride Belt Loop. It makes the holster easier to conceal, more secure than any paddle, and is curved to fit my body more comfortably than Safariland's standard flat belt loop. Overall, this holster is an excellent option if you choose (or are required) to carry a weaponlight-equipped pistol. Highly recommended.

Good holster for OWB carry when you don't need full duty gear
I compared this holster and the Blackhawk Serpa side by side to choose which I wanted to use while on the range or when not in uniform but in a unit. I chose the 7378. The holster has a good feel for the draw and the ALS retention comes natural. I also liked how the ALS retention is not in view of anyone else around you. One concern I had was that a shirt tail might hinder the release. This did not create a problem, as the dexterity of the ALS lever is good enough were you can release the gun with your shirt on top of the release itself. So if you are in a hurry and you shirt gets in the way, the gun still comes out smooth and you can just pull the gun and the shirt up with you into a shooting position and shoot quickly or deal with the shirt. The paddle was also important to me in holster choice and Safariland has a good paddle. The size is right and it contours to your hip shape better than the Serpa. Best of all, the locking hook for the paddle is outside the pants, not inside the waistband, so you can pull the paddle out and remove the holster without taking off your pants. Now don't get me wrong, it still takes some work to remove, but the Serpa is impossible to remove. Lastly, the shape of the holster is different than the Serpa. It is larger in surface area when looking at it from the side. However, I don't find that having the smaller physical size is actually an advantage. The Serpa has the lowest height of any holster I have seen and Blackhawk likes to say that it makes the gun rotate faster out of the draw. From that low on the hip, my wrist can't even turn enough to level the gun from the lower level the Serpa holster allows the gun to clear the holster vertically. So all in all, the height difference is a mute feature. The width of the 7378 is a little wider than the Serpa, but that's not because the overall width of the holster is wider. It is because the Serpa holster follows the contours of the gun, where the 7378 makes the gun's shape into a rounded off square at the bottom. So there is really no difference, and the square shape of the 7378 makes the holster look like a big phone, rather than the shape of a pistol. In conclusion, I picked the Safariland holster over the Blackhawk. However, I think it is important to mention that neither of these holsters are a good concealment holster. If your shirt is covering it, the bulge still shows up. So use this as a second holster when you don't need full duty gear.

Perfect for SA-35
Perfect. The Browning High Power model fits the Springfield Armory SA-35 like a glove. Very secure and fast. Does not deactivate thumb safety. Very close to body. Will conceal under a loose t shirt.

Good holster for the money.
I was looking for a retention holster that I could wear at the range without having to break my piggy bank. The Safariland 7378 7TS ALS is that holster. It is sturdy and well made. The release is natural and intuitive. There are some reviews that say it is isn't, but that has to be operator error. When you grip the pistol your thumb naturally slides across the release and unlatches the gun. It is a completely natural movement. The only way I can see having issues with it is if you attempt to sort of overthink it by trying to push the release rearward then grip the pistol and draw. If you just grab it and allow your thumb to do what it does naturally it will push the release back as your grip the pistol. It is superior in nearly every way to the Blackhawk Serpa. The Safari locking mechanism is removable so you can get the gun out and fix the problem without resorting to the Dremel tool. The Serpa's isn't so if it gets locked up you're cutting the gun out of the holster. The release mechanism doesn't have you using your trigger finger to release the weapon mitigating a major safety issue. For me the safety problem with the Serpa is all the reason I needed to buy a Safariland. I do not regret the purchase would recommend this holster to anyone seeking a good wearable retention holster. With that said it is not a concealment holster. Well, at least I wouldn't wear it as one. The print would be massive. I also wouldn't use this particular model as a duty holster either. Based on what others who should know have said, the retention mechanism on the this exact holster is not adequate. They make some that are, but this isn't one of them. Overall though I am very pleased and it is perfect for what wanted it for. A holster wear at the range that my gun wouldn't fall out of.

THE BEST BY FAR
Safariland 7TS ALS holster. WOW OK I bought this holster as suggested from a friend of mine who is an X officer still carries and is and avid shooter. I have tried and use many other holster I'm a fan of leather until now. This holster is the most comfortable of all my holsters. Unlike regular belt holsters, I barely know I'm wearing it because it does NOT pull on your belt pulling you pants down. I have always hate that, either you have to tighen your belt until it hurts or wear a sagging pistol, Never again. It sits very close to my body in fact could not sit any closer for concealment but most of the time I open carry. It rides so comfortably close to your body my arm doesn't even hit it all the time like my other holsters. SO First of all it LOOKS Awesome, top quality workmanship to the tee. Finish is perfect, every edge meet perfect and everything rounded smooth 10 stars for Quality and Comfort My G19 fits perfect slips right in and locks tight n secure Thumb release works perfect like it should, a very natural position as you crab your pistol the release is right there and your thumb will automatically release the lock every time its Awesome. Even thought there is no thumb break like I'm use to with my OLD leather holsters, I feel very safe carrying knowing how well it locks into position. I would give this holster a 10+ if I could....I'm going to buy one right now for my G20 10mm and a few more to follow. Thanks Safariland

Great Holster for Battle Belt
This holster is works perfectly for my basic OWB battle belt setup. It holds the pistol securely in place. I have the Glock 22 (Gen 3) and Glock 47 MOS (Gen 5) and both fit perfectly in this holster.
