Amplified Heart, Everything But the Girl's million-selling and critically acclaimed seventh studio album, now appears for the first time on vinyl in a deluxe 25th Anniversary Edition mastered at half-speed for optimum audio fidelity by Miles Showell at London's Abbey Road Studios. The record - released in early 1994 by UK alt-pop duo Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt - contains the original version of what was to become the band's biggest hit, "Missing." If Todd Terry's famous house remix took that song onto the world's dance floors and upper reaches of the global pop charts in 1995, the original version also remains a timeless classic and one that perhaps better reflects the enduring appeal of the album's modern-retro hybrid of ardent folk-soul and scratchy electronica. The remix, which was so immensely popular in clubs back in the mid-90s, wasn't originally a part of the CD release. It was added to later pressings, and this vinyl seeks to replicate the artists' original intentions. On the downside, I was disappointed in how desertcart packaged this record - in a large box with a couple plastic air pockets, which led to some minor creases and scuffs on the outer sleeve. Great vinyl!
Been waiting for this album to be reissued on vinyl. It was only available on vinyl in Europe and it was a bootleg. This is a very quiet LP! Clean before you play! Ran it through my RCM and then gave it spin. Wow! This is a fantastic pressing! The separation is beautiful and the soundstage is very spacious. Troubled Mind plays beautifully! All the soft nuances of the song come out very clearly and with ambiance! If you are a fan of EBTG, then you got buy this LP!

Brings me happiness
I have never really heard anything like this band. I don’t know what it is, but it just brings me joy. I love all kinds of music, but this is almost a totally different experience. Maybe some kind of witchcraft - I’m not sure, but it really tickles the happy chemical production. IT JUST MAKES ME HAPPY I don’t know what else to say.

Are you a fan of listening to smart folky jazz pop on audiophile grade vinyl? This is a must.
1. Do you like high quality audiophile grade mastering and vinyl pressings? 2. Do you like folk, pop, Fleetwood Mac, and jazz? 3. Do you like smart, emotional, honest and especially during pandemic times, relevant lyrics, that are sung by beautiful voices? If you answered yes to any or all of the above, just get this record before they stop making it and you have to pay an arm and a leg for it. If the pandemic life brought out a more introverted, Introspective side to you, reflections of love and life, you should have this record. If you don’t know who they are, even better. Trust me, get this!

Great pressing. So happy to have this on vinyl!
Absolutely flat and silent pressing. Fantastic audio fidelity - much warmer and richer than the CD version, for sure. If you love this album and feel, as I do, that it's meant to be heard on vinyl, don't hesitate!

EBTG Classic
Of all the albums released by Everything But The Girl; this is my all time favorite. Ben Watt and Tracy Thorn are great lyricists and song writers, their songs convey an emotional aura that always strikes a chord.

My copy arrived and it was absolutely filthy even though it was sealed and new. Needed to do a brush clean and then put through both a wet vinyl vac and an ultrasonic cleaner to get all the crap off the record. Once that was done the pressing quality comes through and it has been really well mastered and pressed... Just be prepared for a new record cleaning exercise to be able to hear the sound properly....On a positive note I can start a vegetable garden with all the dirt I extracted from the record

El disco llego sin defecto alguno, tanto la caja como el vinyl. Es la primera vez que escucho todas las canciones excepto missing y estoy sorprendido de lo bueno que es este disco, pensaba que solo eran un grupo de una sola canción pero no es así, lo recomiendo bastante. Sobre el audio, sin ser un audiofilo se oye muy bien, es la versión de 25th Anniversary en vinyl.
