Monster High Beach Beasties Venus McFlytrap Doll

As an adult collector it is frustrating that newer budget (slim box) Monster High dolls do not come with stands. I understand that cutting them is a way to keep the cost down without cheapening the actual doll, but I still miss their inclusion. That being said, this Venus is now one of my favorite dolls to date. Venus is one of the most vibrant characters in the MH doll line, and her swimsuit version is no exception. With her zigzag print one piece, neon green sunglasses, and bright pink bag and shoes (that are a new mold, unlike the other 2 dolls in this line) Venus is definitely the best-designed of the 3. I'd like to note that she was manufactured in China, so she lacks the glue that holds the hair inside the head on Indonesia dolls (that can leak out over time), and the overall hair quality is nice and soft. Another thing I'd like to note is the makeup that the doll is wearing. In the promotional photo and boxart, Venus has green eyeshadow and pick lipstick. However, all the actual dolls being found had her basic makeup reused (pink eyeshadow and red lipstick). It was a little disappointing, but I still wanted the doll in spite of her recycled face. However, when she arrived I was exited to see that my Venus, in fact, had her proper makeup. And in that moment, I knew that it was my duty to lead the MH community...I had been chosen by the doll gods themselves, destined by divine right to lead my people...to ascend from Mattel's mistakes into a realm of plastic perfection.

I love these Monster High dolls...growing up, I loved the old classic horror movies, and I love that these dolls are a nice compromise between the fashion and shopping obsession of Barbie and those who like their toys with a little bit of an edge. The dolls always have a ton of great details and fun accessories, the fabrics used in their outfits are unique well-chosen. They do seem to be a bit more fragile than Barbies (I've seen more than a few disconnected arms and broken accessories - be aware of this when giving them to younger children) but they have a great attitude, bright colors, and such intricate detail that you just won't find in other doll series. This doll is one of the scaled down dolls in the line with fewer accessories, but I gave it as a gift and the little girl who received it was thrilled.

This Venus doll is so colorful and vibrant in person. Her hair is very unique and totally cute, and her makeup is very detailed and on point. She comes with her swimsuit, a cute pair of heals, some vine type accesdories, and a beach towel. I bought this for my daughter for her birthday, and it was a big hit with her.

This version of Venus comes without a dollstand and with a minimum of accessories since she's a basic release. It's a great way to get a doll you like without spending too much money. Actually, her beach towel can be used as a substitute for a miniskirt if you wrap it aroud her waist (use a safety pin to close it). This version of Venus has soft, rubbery vines on her arms and legs (as opposed to hard plastic vines from her Signature release), so one has to be careful to avoid losing them. The best thing about her is that her hair is fantastic and not greasy at all (which is a common problem in MH dolls)!

If you know the Monster series you know that this is only the second time they have made Venus, which makes her highly sought after. This one does not disappoint. Unlike the Barbie series, Monster High dolls in swimsuits are fun, cleverly accesorized and while a few dollars more than the 8 or 9 bucks you spend on a bathing suit Barbie, the hair styles and shoes are far cuter! We love Monster High dolls and while we don't buy every single one, we like to have a few of each character since their wardrobe options are limited. This one will be a favorite quickly!

This Venus is very cute. I was very excited because of her poof, but was pretty disappointed with how it came. It's good that no gel is in her hair. So if she wants to go swimming, it won't get ruined. Her hair is very soft and the shaved patch is soft to the touch as well. Her hair colors are very vibrant and awesome. Venus has little leaves molded on her hands. She comes with her arm and leg vines, cute beach bag, sunglasses, shoes, swimsuit, and towel.(In my picture shows black glasses and a hanger. They are not included.) Her sunglasses broke when I was just trying to get them to position right on her head. But my Draculaura's glasses have been found under various things and are still in great condition. The towel is very small so it's not like she lay on it. Her make up is good and besides her glasses, her things are in good condition.

Venus is cute in her swimsuit. Her hair is cute and she has a cute pair of shades and a lovely bag with towel. This is a pretty doll with a nice price. Good for collection or play time.

UND ich habe eine bekommen deren Gesicht zum glück NICHT Verrutscht ist Eigentlich schade irgendwie ^^ wenn es nicht verruscht wäre hätte ich kein schlechtes Gewissen es zu verändern XD Meine Meinung wie immer.. ich würde die Puppen ab 8 Jahren verkaufwen weil die Gelenke schnell brechen
