Pacifica Aquarian Gaze Mascara – Abyss (Black) Water-Resistant Long Lash Mascara, Lengthening & Smudge-Proof, Vegan & Cruelty-Free

Started using this mascara several years ago and had decided I would use it forever and always: I love how it applies and looks; it stays put throughout the day, even with tears and such; and it comes off very easily in the shower (how do they do that?!). Then, despite the fantastic reviews this mascara receives, Pacifica discontinued it and replaced it with a new (and terribly reviewed) water-resistant mascara. Began the search for a replacement, and didn’t find anything I liked nearly as much. But it’s back!!! I’ll be reordering this as soon as I use up my not-as-good-and-more-than-double-the-price Tarte mascara. :)

I am not sure about some of these negative reviews. Maybe they got some duds. The tube I got was fresh, and it comes out in a smooth consistency. Is it the absolute best mascara I have ever used in my life? No. Does it have so many other benefits that I love it? Yes. It doesn't clump, goes on smooth, separates my lashes and has a nice, dark color. It has no phthalates, so you are limiting your endocrine disruptor exposure. It is great for everyday wear (think work or going out). It takes a few minutes to dry, so I like to try to wipe off any excess with a little bit of paper towel. Other than that minor inconvenience, I am very happy! I have also tried other phthalate- and paraben-free mascaras on Amazon. This is, by far, the best. AND it resists water. The other ones bleed when you sweat. If you got a dud tube, try again. It is worth the second try.

I love the concept of vegan mascara...however, it is not for me. It irritated my left eye into insanity. It watered and continued to bugger for 2 days after. Benedryl was on tap. The color is very nice and it goes on super easy with no clumping. And, I liked it right off! But within the first 5 mins of it on my eye said... Noooo So, I thought...okay, I've had issues with Loreal and Nutregena brands for the same issue and I'll just give it a minute cos I really wanted to not have to be in the "gotta send it back" direction. Another 10 mins passed and I absently rubbed my eye. Thus ended the remainder of the "wait and see" test. I tried to wash it off and it was not a hard task but it wasn't super easy either and that was using my goat milk soap. I don't own make-up remover. I think with any product it is a hit and miss for each person due to no one is really the same with how their body reacts. We each have a different "twitch" that happens even tho it could be kinda like someone else's. In saying all that I would encourage anyone looking to try the mascara...it could be your goldmine but for me I got rocks.

This is my all-time favorite product! I stumbled on it by accident but it happened to be the best mascara I've ever used. Smooth application, non-clumping, and long-lasting! Being that it is water resistant, taking it off requires some scrubbing but it's nothing that a make-up removing face cleanser can't handle! Love, love, love!

I love this brand but I was hoping for a product that was a little more water resistant. It is as it says “water resistant” and NOT “waterproof”. When my eyelashes got wet the mascara wasn’t as messy as typical regular mascaras where you look like you have raccoon eyes.

Very disappointed. I bought this mascara, as it seemed y to be a safer product compared to other mainstream mascaras. But I have nothing good to say about this product. Does not build well. Does not hold a curl, flakes almost immediately and all the tiny particles irritate my yes. Had to toss after a couple of uses. Total junk.

Finally I can wear mascara again! My eyes have been sensitive to mascara for about 10 years and over that time I have tried all sorts from high end to bargain basement brands. I never thought I would be able to wear it again as it made my eyes itch so badly. All my other makeup is from natural brands but, as others will no doubt agree, finding a natural mascara is very difficult. This product is a little dry to apply but I like that. It means it dries quicker and is less likely to make a mess of your lid or under eye whilst you are waiting for it to dry. It is easy to build up layers to go very dramatic too. I've been wearing it for a week and have had no itchiness. It also lasts all day with no smudging or flaking. It removes easily with remover or soap and water. I am so pleased with this product!

Good natural product

Le mascara ne coule pas, la brosse sépare bien les cils, mais on doit passer 50 fois pour voir un tout petit peu qu'il y en a. Et encore, autour de moi tout le monde a pensé que je n'étais pas maquillée. Clairement je suis déçue.
