Moen 95606 Monticello Replacement Handle Hub Kit, Chrome

The adapter comes with this hub is made from plastic instead of metal like the old one that we had. The insert’s design is different, but it works with my existing faucet. Replacement is easy.

I was concerned I wouldn't be able to find a Monticello replacement, but there it was! Had a bit of a time getting the old one off - backplate is a different design and needed a smaller Allen wrench than the one in the kit. 100% satisfied!

No problem with the purchase of this product.

My shower handle was from 1996. Had to cut off the metal collar and handle. This works fine but is loose even when tightened. Had to add two lockwashers so that it could be solid.

Original equipment - delivered as promised and on time.

Like other reviewers, I had to remove the piece of metal from the faucet and replace with the included plastic adapter. Looks Great, Works Great.

We needed a replacement for our shower knob as the threads were stripped from the handle piece. I read the reviews that said if the knob was older that I would need to replace the adapter mount. I’m not super handy, so I wasn’t exactly sure what I was doing at first as there are no instructions. However, it was pretty intuitive once I started taking the old one off. Easy peasy.

A couple of reviewers indicated this is a newer product and does not work with the older Moen value. They are correct that this is a newer version and it works better than the older version. This comes with a hard plastic part that replaces the brass center part on the older value. Use a Philips head screw driver to remove the screw in the center of the original brass part. Be careful to keep everything aligned when doing this. Then replace the brass part with the new plastic part, using the new screw, which is also provided. Then replace the outside chrome cover. If you have hard water, the new plastic part will not retain the mineral deposits which plague the brass piece you replace.

I want to make sure that the part is same my existing hub. I called moen by providing the part number (see image of old and new) and confirmed for accuracy. It worked perfectly as this is the correct replacement unit for the Montecello faucet hub. It will cost $$$$$ when you order thru Moen.

There were the internal design and parts changed. Overall it fits and works, but there is a gap created and feels that handle would fall off, tho it fixed. Some add-on must be inserted.

Part was different than original but was easy to fit. Delivery was very disappointing, weeks late for a part vital to our shower
