If you just slide the bag other than spinner, you may damage the fabric. Ideally it should include an additional base support which can protect the bag from the surface touching ground.The zipper puller is non metal, so you have to put a lock through the non metal puller which can easily be damaged by a small utility knife.I would say, if only you are going to handle the bag through the journey like, as an carry on, or as a office laptop bag (tote), you are fine, but it is not good for using it as a heavy duty bag.

This is a nice set. The larger of the two does stand 23 inches floor to handle so you may have some issues with strict carry on rules. The smaller one will be no problem. It stands 19 inch floor to handle so no problem for most domestic jets. I think the small one will be perfect for those one night, one change of clothes type trip. They roll fine on carpet (empty) so I will have to check back after my first trip with an update about how they perform loaded. I really like the fact the handles have multiple stop point, that will allow either my wife or I to use them comfortable. The red tags on the zippers gives it a little distinguishing look from the standard all black on black everyone else carries.

We've used these a couple of times since the purchase, but not yet on a flight so that will be the real test. They have a good amount of space and seem to be built well. My teenager used the smaller bag for a few overnight trips and it's been perfect for that. They store inside each other so they don't take up a lot of room when in use. I usually don't like to purchase luggage on line, but this was a good deal and I'd recommend this set. So far the hardware/handle are working just fine, but the pull out handle is not the sturdiest I've seen, so it will be interesting to see how they hold up over time. For now, after a few uses, I'd say this has been a good buy.

As other reviewers have stated - this is a set of two different sized pieces of carry-on luggage. You can't take them both onto an airplane yourself. That said, it is perfect for a parent and child set. My six-year old easily managed the smaller case by herself through several airports. FYI - the handle on the small case has enough positions that is can be lowered for a child or extended so that a six-foot male can easily handle it. Both cases are light and maneuverable. However, it should be noted that very maneuverability can be both a pro and a con. With four independent wheels, these cases will easily swivel through the tightest airplane aisles. However, they also tend to take off in random directions on escalators if you don't pay close attention. Also noteworthy, and a nice touch that doesn't exist on my other suitcases, is the convenient handle between the wheels. In this day of crammed overhead compartments and flight attendants repeating robotically "Wheels pointing OUT please, or we can't shut the bins", its nice to be able to have an easily-reached handle with which to pull your bag down (particularly for us short folk who can never reach the "regular" handles when the suitcase is oriented wheels out). When traveling is done, it takes a little bit of work to "nest" the two cases. But, the smaller case does indeed fit entirely inside the larger one, thus reducing the amount of space needed when storing the cases between trips.

This was the perfect luggage set for me. I am a teacher and I travel rather a lot. The larger of the two pieces is your carry on piece for the airplane. It fits perfectly in the overhead and is, itself, very light weight. There are handles all over it, so that it is easily removed from the overhead. The handle is sturdy and the rollers are very smooth. There are many pouches with which to store all of the necessary items, and plenty of room inside for a few days worth of clothes etc.This is the perfect case for a trip lasting two to five days time, depending on your own packing habits. I tend to travel fairly simple, so it works for me. If you carry everything but the kitchen sink, well…. I can put everything I need, including toiletries, running shoes and workout clothes, professional clothes, a book and my computer easily with room to spare.The smaller piece is a laptop bag. I'm a teacher, and this piece is perfect for me to store all of my supplies I need for the day; including my laptop, books, handouts, general supplies and lunch. It is lightweight and the rollers work perfectly. This piece would be perfect for a teacher, or anyone who travels to a couple of locations everyday, but still needs to have certain supplies with them. It would also be perfect for a quick trip requiring a plane flight. Say the trip was only for the day, but you don't want to show up looking like an amateur. This would be a great piece to allow you to have everything you need, and still have that professional appearance.
