works well and runs longer than expected
I am in love with this diffuser! It is the cheapest I've seen and it works so well. It is relatively easy to use and comes with detailed, easy to understand instructions. I am so glad for this because I often have trouble operating technology, despite being a 'millennial.' I've been using it for roughly 2 weeks now and have had no problems with leaking or malfunction so far. I like how there are mist settings of continuous and intermittent. I usually set it on intermittent and it will last far more than the 4 hours that it claims, which to me is a big bonus. I keep it right at my bedside and it is very quiet. You can still hear it running, but it is a soft whooshing/whirring sound that I find soothing (almost like white noise). It doesn't overheat or get the surface it is on warm, which I thought would happen. I'm glad to be proven wrong! All in all, a good, quality product! Some pointers that you might find helpful: 1) You need to make sure to open it up when you're done to let the water residue dry up so that bacteria won't start to grow. 2) You only need 1-2 drops of essential oil into it, I found that more than that is overwhelming to the senses. If you are mixing several essential oils, then one drop each is a good amount and that might increase the number of total drops. 3) It does need to be plugged into the wall in order to work, so keep that in mind when you are placing it in your desired area. 4) If you were wondering if you can use it without the light feature, the answer is yes, you can. When you initially turn on the diffuser, the light feature is off. Likewise, if the light feature is on, all you have to do is hold the 'light' button for ~2 seconds and it turns off the light. 5) Speaking of the light button, there are several different colors to choose from and there is also a setting that slowly changes through all the colors. 6) Bonus, you can use it with only water and it acts as a humidifier. It seems to operate pretty well at this, not stellar, because of its size, but adequate.

Works well, nice features, not too fancy or too plain.
Originally, I bought this product to diffuse 2 specific oil blends. At the time I received my order, I only had one of the blends, but figured I would go ahead and start using it. I am now glad I didn't expect to be able to use them both right away. The oil from the first blend has pretty much permeated the inside of the diffuser, and there is no way I could use another oil in it. Additionally, it is notable that for the first few uses, it was very difficult to get the lid off and on. I almost spilled water several times trying to put it on. That said, over time (a dozen uses or even less) the lid became much more manageable and is no longer an issue. The diffuser does a wonderful job releasing the oil into the air, and when it is full, I can get at least 6 hours of run time. I also like the intermittent feature for being able to keep it going almost all night long in my daughter's room. We don't really use the colored light feature, though they are quite pretty. Because we use it a lot at night in my daughter's room and she is sensitive to light, I prefer to keep it off. It beeps quietly and unobtrusively and blinks briefly when it is 'empty'- there is always still a layer of water at the bottom of the well, so it is never bone-dry. Ultimately, I was pleased enough to order another one to diffuse my other blend. Overall, this product is very good. It has nice features which you can choose to use or not and does it's job well.

Works like a charm
One way to use these essential oils is by aromatherapy diffusion. This is when you drop a few drops of the essential oil(s) of your choice into a bit of water. The diffusion device will then turn the water and oils into a vapor, spreading about the room. I must have about 10 of these diffusers all over my home! I might be obsessed.... But that's not a bad obsession, right? My latest diffuser is this one by Calily. This device is an ultrasonic aromatherapy diffuser. It does not use any heat to produce the vapors which keeps the essential oils from changing in any way. HOW IT WORKS: So, the way this device works is you unscrew the top portion to fill it with water and oils up to the water line. You must only do this while the device is NOT plugged in. (Safety first) After you have put the cover back on and plugged in the device, you hold the 'Mist' button down for a few seconds. It then begins to diffuse. It starts out slow but gradually gets stronger. If you would like the light to turn on, simply hold the 'Light' button for a few moments and on goes the light. This setting allows it to change colors gradually. If you press it once, it will hold different colors. Press it again to change to the next color. It works fantastically! Made my dog/laundry room smell amazing and not like pee.... PROS: Some pros to this product are as follows- 1. Not very easy to spill. The cover snaps back into place and does not come off until you twist it off. So no mess. 2. Simple design. 3. Easy to use. 4. Beautiful LED lights. 5. Easy to clean. 5. Easy to store. 6. Does not change the composition, healing properties, or natural aromas of the essential oils. 7. Cannot overheat as it does not use any heat. 8. Goes off automatically when canister is empty. 9. Extremely quiet. 10. Reasonably priced. CONS: I really don't have any cons. It has worked great for me so far! The only thing I can say is that the manufacturer should have proof-read their marketing materials before sending out because smack dab on the back of the box there is a typo. Overall, I definitely recommend this diffuser for a small room or even a large living space. It puts out quite well!

Loved it so much, I ordered another one!
I have been wanting to buy an essential oil diffuser for awhile now. I am susceptible to migraines, so I have to be careful with what types of candles and essential oils I buy. Lately, candles have also been causing migraines so I decided to try something new since many essential oils tend to be clean and free of chemicals that cause me pain. I ended up buying the Calily after reading the positive reviews. With amazon prime, I received it two days later and instantly put it to work. My significant other came home and noticed the house smelled different, in a good way. I left it running for two hours then turned it off and went upstairs to my room. I came downstairs a few minutes later and noticed it was turned back on again. I looked at my significant other a little confused as I was certain I had shut it off. He said he turned it back on because he really liked it, especially the neon colors it would emit. That right there told me this was indeed the perfect addition to my home. Later in the week I left for work and had a mini freak out because I didn't turn off the diffuser. Well low and behold it comes with an auto turn off feature so I did not have to worry about leaving it on! I am so thankful for this product as it has made my house smell amazing and has created a more relaxed environment. The only downside to the diffuser is that the shut off is quite loud, which is not ideal if you are planning on falling asleep with it on. It also only lasts about 4 hours before it needs to be refilled again. Other than that, I highly recommend ordering one. It makes a great mother's day gift as well. Thanks so much!

Pieces came apart on day one and it completely failed in 2 months!
This diffuser has many parts and most of them failed right away. The tall tube-like lid has a flat round top and then there is a dome shaped piece under that. Every time I filled this which was frequently with the illnesses that we have just been through in our household over the holidays, I would have to place the dome piece on after filling the liquid, then carefully slide the cylinder top on and try to line up the holes so the mist could come out correctly all the while trying not to bump the flat circle lid. The circular lid is not supposed to come loose from the cylinder and the dome piece underneath is supposed to be attach to the top. It was like putting a puzzle together every night before bed. I speak in past tense as I purchased this in November and it just burned up in early January. I had noticed that the liquid still seemed nearly full one morning as there was an awful smell and then I felt the unit and it was very hot. I immediately unplugged it and once it cooled, it went in the trash. I was relived to no longer have to fool with the nightly ritual. I only purchased this model to have a diffuser that allowed me to turn off all lights so we could sleep. It still had a small bright light in the front showing but I could sit a bottle of oil in front of it and that would help block it most of the way. Unfortunately, if it ran out of liquid at a time that I happened to be rolling over or was awake for a second, I would see what it does when it finished running! It flashed a bright light 3 times before shutting off. I am not sure who thought of that feature, but we could have done without it.

Twist and shout (in anger!!)
Standard diffuser - works as designed, but unfortunately not my favorite. I have another Calily diffuser that I like much better than this one. Pros: -the price was definitely a factor in my purchase - it only takes up a small amount of space - multiple lighting options - including off (my preference) - when operating it is quiet and creates a great mist Cons: - the top is ridiculously difficult to get off. I much prefer my other Calily in which the top just lifts off - this one is removed by twisting. - I do not like the beep that it makes when you turn it on - I am usually turning it on when my fiancee is already asleep. I would prefer no beeping. All of that being said - I would have given this 5 stars - but the top is really THAT difficult to turn to remove...it is unfortunate - because otherwise this is a great diffuser.

I love this thing
This is my very first diffuser, and so far I adore it. It's very quiet, the directions were simple and clear, and setting it up took about a minute. You use the measuring cup that's included in the box to add water, drop in a bit of essential oil, and you're ready to go! Just hold down the MIST button until it beeps, and then press again to set your preferred level, and it immediately starts diffusing. The light is optional, you hold down a button to turn it on if you like, then choose whether you want it to stay on a particular color or cycle through them all. I actually find the color changing light surprisingly relaxing, and have enjoyed falling asleep to it, even though i usually prefer to sleep in total darkness. It does beep when it turns off, but it isn't loud enough to wake me up. I'm just very glad that it turns off automatically when it runs out of water. I definitely recommend this, and am buying one as a gift for a friend tonight.

Best Diffuser We've Owned
We own two of these. In the interest of making a well-informed decision, I've compiled a short list of pros and cons of this particular diffuser to help anyone interested along. :) Pros: -This is a small diffuser, taking up a minimal amount of space. It's about as big around as a regular canned good, but a few inches taller. -It has two functions. Press the "mode" button once for continual steam and twice for intermittent bursts (about every ten seconds lasting for 5-10 seconds). The intermittent bursts lasts for a solid 6 hours at least. The continual lasts for around 2 hours. -It has several light settings, one of which is to shut them off completely! We've owned others that did not have this capability. It's nice to be able to shut the glow off for light-sensitive sleepers and turn it on for the ones who like a nightlight. Somewhere in Inbetween: -It's a bit loud, so I don't use it at night in our bedroom as the noise bothers my husband. Our kids love them, though. The noise acts as a white noise machine of sorts. Cons: -I find this one cumbersome to fill if I've misplaced the filling pitcher that comes with it (which happens almost daily in a house with a lot of little, grabbing hands). The wire connects underneath the diffuser, so plugging it in after it has water in it takes a bit of maneuvering as it can't be tilted without spilling the water. The hole for the plug is very small and inset, so it can be tricky. -The cover can be somewhat difficult to remove and put back on when the diffuser needs filling. There are dots on the base and the cover for proper alignment and you can feel it lock into place when it's on correctly, but I've found that I have to pick up the entire unit to put the cover back on...which means the water sloshes around, and sometimes it comes unplugged in the process and I have to start the process of finding the hole underneath to plug it back in. The cons here are minor in comparison to the pros for me. The hassle of the filling and plugging in and cover removing and replacing is no hassle at all after a few uses. I like the Calily much better than my Young Living diffuser for its adaptability and unobtrusive size.
