Claymore, Vol. 15: Genesis of War

as the amazing battle of the from the last volumes comes to a result the warriors are being informed by galatea about more changes regarding the organisation and there desperate measures as we know very deep and scary information that the organisation boundaries are MUCH MUCH!!!!! bigger than what its covered in the anime that even i was baffled by it and shocked at the same time . a very amazing revelation thus far in the whole manga is Raki being an adult that really give another different perspective from the anime with a shocking detail regarding his ..... partner who befriended with him all this time . it seems we are introduced to a new warrior and quite a strong nature as well , but alas her day is going to turn into a nightmare as on the last part you going to see a truly horrifying truth that is going to make things harder to the renegade warriors . for an anime follower you will experience lots of totally new info that makes the manga more relevant and keeps the excitement alive and interesting . fantastic volume as always .

This was definately a good read, but you must absolutely need to have read the previous volumes beforehand. This plot steamrolls all the others before it and finally give you explinations to a lot of questions. More arise, of course, however you are given a sense of stability since you get more answers than new questions. Plus it is nice to finally see Raki return, since he's been excluded for such a long time, except for a small cameo in a previous volume (11 or 12 I think...) but if you are a Claymore Fan, this shall not disappoint.

I have always enjoyed Claymore, but this volume took the series to a new level of epicness. There is a huge plot twist which leads into some great new arcs. I enjoyed this volume so much, that I bought and marathoned through the rest of the series. You need this volume. Seriously.

This is a great series that my husband and I both love. I had to return some because he already had some but these came in great condition and were exactly what I expected. I can't wait for the next book to come out!

Claymore, Vol. 15 / 978-1421531496 I'm a very devoted fan of both the Claymore anime and the manga. I love the crisp black-and-white artwork, and while I realize it's not for everyone I personally think it's a perfect style for graphic novels. I find the action easy to follow, and the faces and body language to be surprisingly emotive. The story is complex and compelling, and I'm all in until the series finally finishes. I own this volume as a Nook Book e-book, and I assume it will shortly be ported to other online stores for sale. Volume 15 provides the following scenes: Scene 78: Genesis of War, Part 1 Scene 79: Genesis of War, Part 2 Scene 80: Genesis of War, Part 3 Scene 81: Genesis of War, Part 4 Scene 82: Genesis of War, Part 5 Scene 83: The Lamentation of the Earth, Part 1 Spoilers ahead! This volume opens with the Seven Ghosts confronting Awakened Being Bloody Agatha in the holy city of Rabona. (And it's particularly exciting to see the Ghosts work together as a coordinated unit; it's immediately clear how much stronger the warriors are as a close-knit unit as opposed to the groups-of-strangers the Organization insists on sending out constantly in order to actively prevent internal alliances from forming.) Once Agatha is defeated, it's time to regroup and sort out the Galatea-Clarice-Miata situation. Miria reveals that she plans to dismantle the Organization. She informs the group the secret behind the Organization: that the yoma the Claymores are sent out to fight are actually created by the Organization itself. Somewhere else in the world there is another continent, where a war is being waged. The Organization is using *this* continent to build and test battle units: yoma, Claymore, Awakened Beings, soul bindings, Abyssal Creatures, and far more besides. The Organization releases yoma into the countryside to wreak havoc; commissions come in (money that funds more research), warriors become stronger, and the Organization harvests knowledge, tactics, and possibly units to take back to the mainland. We cut to Raki, all grown up now and a warrior in his own right. He travels as a warrior-for-hire, with Priscilla (posing as his adopted daughter) pointing out yoma and Raki dispatching them for the afflicted village. Number 6 Renee -- the new "god's eye" in the wake of Galatea's desertion -- confronts him in town, asking how he can sense yoma from ordinary people. When she realizes the power of Priscilla, she beats a hasty retreat; before she can return to the Organization to report on the situation, she is captured by Abyssal Creature Riful, who wishes Renee to probe into the consciousness of a mysterious artifact: the melded bodies of Luciela and Rafaela. Before Miria can take down the Organization, she cautions the others to take care of any last business. Clare heads west, seeking Raki; Helen and Deneve decide to take a final tour of their southern home. In a town in the west, Clare -- along with Yuma and Cynthia -- run into Rubel, Clare's former handler. ~ Ana Mardoll

This is the 15th volume in the Claymore series, which is set to wrap up with volume 27 later in 2015. This was another excellent installment in this shounen manga series. These last couple books have been a vast improvement over volumes 11-13, which I felt were the weakest of the series so far. Clare and crew show up in the Holy city of Rabona to take on Bloody Agatha. After that battle Miria shares some truly shocking truths about the Claymore organization. Then we cut to a scene where we finally find out what has become of Raki, who has grown into a powerful warrior. Then Clare and two other Claymores leave on a side mission to track down Raki. Renee and Raki have an encounter and then shortly after Renee leaves town she is captured by Riful. Riful wants Renee to try and awaken the merged being of Rafaela and Luciela. Again as you can tell from the above a lot happens in this volume. The story jumps around quite a bit, which I am not a huge fan of...however I am getting used to that in this series. I am also starting to have an easier time matching all these names and faces (this has been kind of difficult because all the Claymore look so similar). There are some seriously amazing plot developments here. Really this is one of the pivotal books in this series. This book brings a big revelation as to the origins of the Organization and of course lots of awesome battle scenes. There were a few books that lagged in this series but books 14 and 15 have been very awesome again. The illustration continues to be wonderful detailed and the action scenes are plentiful and spectacular. There were a few volumes earlier in this series that I felt were very repetitive (introduce a new Claymore, learn her special power, watch her fight, rinse, repeat) but we appear to finally be getting out of that lag. Overall this was an outstanding volume in the Claymore series. This has been an excellent fantasy shounen manga series that is appropriate for teen and older. It’s action packed, has some awesome world-building and wonderful characters.

While volume 15 technically starts a "new" arc it is an immediate continuation of the last one and the series in general builds off all that has come before. This is not the place to start reading - go back to the beginning. The Genesis of War (complete: part 1-5) opens with the continuing battle in Rabona against an awakened one. This is a strong follow up to last volumes events with Galatea and Miata and it's quite interesting to see the seven in action. The remainder of this arc fills in a lot of important information on the existing status quo and where the series will be going from here, splitting time between the seven, Riful, and Raki. The revelations here are absolutely amazing. To say that the information Miria shares from her investigation changes the landscape of the entire series is no exaggeration. But it doesn't end there - Riful's need for one skilled in reading Yoma energy is explained in another big twist that connects back to a separate lingering mystery from earlier in the series. All together this arc signifies a major shake up that will shape several plot threads going forward and yet fits beautifully with everything that came before. This volume closes with part 1 of The Lamentation of the Earth. The seven have temporarily disbanded into smaller groups to settle remaining personal business before pursuing their main objective. Cynthia and Uma accompany Clare to the West in search of Raki, but it doesn't take long to run into something else. This chapter ends on a very strong hook into the next volume. More than any before this volume showcases what a masterful combination of layered storytelling Yagi is achieving with Claymore. Highly recommended.

Another volume of 'Claymore', another inventively choreographed battle. And very impressive it is, too. The 'secret' of just what Bloody Agatha's body is is handled rather well and, in many respects, I must confess a certain amount of awe that, after 14 volumes of the series, Yagi's inventiveness in detailing the unique and often horrifying mutations of the Awakened Beings remains undimmed. Mind you, the condescending hubris of the aforementioned Awakened Beings is becoming something of a cliche, but, then, seeing those villains get their comeuppance in, as in this case, increasingly strategic ways remains one of the things that keep readers coming back for more, I suppose. But, as good as the battle that opens this volume is, it won't be what long-time readers of the series remember it for. Having been profoundly cool in the opening battle, Miria takes centre stage afterwards with her information about the true intentions of the Organization and the real nature of the battle between Claymores, Yoma and Awakened Beings. I'm not going to spoil it here, but will say that, if the time shift of a few volumes ago felt like the rug being pulled out from under you, this feels more like an earthquake. The revelations have the potential to expand the series exponentially. To call them intriguing would be something of an understatement. So, the paradigm shifts again and we're all kept on our toes. All good. For me, though, the highlight of the volume was the return of Raki. And he's great - a fresh breath of optimism and belief in a generally dark story. Oh, and there's a very nice cliffhanger for good measure. In short, then, this volume's excellent and highly recommended.

This fifteenth volume of Claymore sees Clare and her friends join the fight against the awakened one in Rabona. As well as this the volume reveals a lot about the true background and purpose of the Organisation and the setting of the series itself. In this volume we also find out about Raki and how he has grown in the past seven years. This was another very good volume that mixed some nice battles that show how much the survivors of the massacre in the north have grown in strength and some background for the series itself. The only real problem with this volume was the way that the background was presented in a rather large and heavy info-dump that I felt could probably been handled a bit better. This is only a minor problem though and there are more than enough good things here for the volume to get the full five stars.
