Works Great! Well Worth The Price!
There is a slight twist to the instructions. If you follow the instructions for the 4000, things won't match up. But when the instructions for the 4100 are followed, every thing lines right up! I did remove the the 2 circlips that limit the closing distance, so as to allow for easier passage though doors. Everything is heavy duty, and I mean HEAVY duty. This is a true piece of Quality German Engineering. UPDATE: 07/12/2011 Works Well, Worth The Price Please be aware that the mounts are cast aluminum and somewhat softer than the 5/8" steel rods, and don't have an anti friction bearing. Over time, as the Outfeed Extension is moved in and out, the hole in the mounts will elongate so that the outfeed extends at a downward angle instead of parallel to the table saw top. This can be corrected by replacing the unit, use a support to bring the extension level to the table saw top or use Samuel Curren idea to use washers/shims to correct the problem. I changed my rating from 5 to 4 stars for this reason.

A must have for your awesome Bosch Table Saw
Pros: Sturdy, stores on-board, easy to assemble, reasonably easy to install on the saw. Cons: Would be difficult to remove if you install the back set of C clips on the rods. I bought the Bosch 10" table saw with the gravity rise stand. Most awesome saw I've ever owned. This accessory makes it even better. Prior to getting this, I used a roller stand. I rarely work on a level surface and those stands, if not perfectly aligned, tend to pull your work away from the rip fence. Plus, they are a real hassle to carry around. Assembling and installing the extension to my saw was pretty straight forward. Due to clearance issues, it's a little tricky to mount the sleeves that bolt to the bottom of the saw table, but you only have to do that once and your patience will be rewarded. The extension rods slip into the sleeves and there are a couple of C-clips that keep it from going in too far or coming back out. There's also a set screw to lock it in place so it doesn't move when you're working with the saw. Now, when I'm ripping a long piece, I have an additional 15" or so of support - and it's immediately ready and needs no adjustment. My only complaint is that this makes the saw about 4" wider meaning you have to take it off to wheel the saw through a 32" door opening. I left a set of the C-clips off so I could quickly remove the extension in the event I'm trying to move the saw into a job site.

Works great- but small defect
I purchased the left and rear supports, and they make the saw much more useful for large sheet goods. I did have one problem with the kit. There are 4 c-clips that keep the support bars from sliding too far in, or too far out. These c-clips snap into grooves machined into the bars. The c-clips that were included are too thick for the machined grooves, and will break before they will slide into them. I found identical diameter c-clips at my local hardware store that were a few thousandths thinner, and worked perfectly. Either Bosch spec'd the wrong thickness clips, or they machined the grooves to be too small. Save yourself some frustration, and replace the c-clips. Bosch, if you're reading, try assembling this kit! Your manufacturer in China slipped on the Quality control- which is very unlike Bosch. I'm a huge fan of Bosch tools, but I also had a defect problem in my left support- threads were missing in the support rod, and it had to be sent back to Amazon for replacement. Bosch! You need to upgrade the Quality Assurance with this Chinese manufacturer.

Surprisingly Sturdy
Hi all, I've been following the discussion on this gadget for a couple of years. I finally go into the position to buy one. It arrived recently and I was quite surprised to find how sturdy this monster is. It is heavy and looks to be maybe 10ga aluminum plate. Installation went ALMOST without event. The illustration was wrong, so I had to reverse one of the brackets. It does sag, ever so slightly. That problem has already been solved in another review, so I'll most likely be adding washers to the brackets. The sag isn't bad, though... it's very slight. It is perfectly usable as-is. The grooves line up perfectly with the tracks on the saw and it slides in and out well. I applied a light coat of Teflon spray to the rods to help them move a little more smoothly. It worked perfectly. My unit is well done and will be a handy addition to my 4000 series saw.

Perfect Addition to the Bosch 4100-09 Table Saw
Wonderful addition to the Bosch 4100-09 Table Saw. Product installs quickly, slides easily, and fits perfectly against the side of the table saw. I can confirm that there is now set screw that prevents the extension from accidently sliding out during transport. The product does not block or interfere with any other part of the saw, or the additional Bosch TS1003 Left Side Extension. Note that the Bosch TS1002 Table Saw Rear Outfeed Support Extension will add about 2" to 3" to the width of the table saw when in the closed position as it necessarily needs to leave room for the rip fence.

Great addition to my Bosch table saw
The rear feed support has made it possible for me to cut large items completely by myself. I am a DIY and needed a easy way to cut larger items without any help. The extension allows me to do so without having to rig a bench in the back which required quite some effort. The extension slides out for such projects and slides in for storage. Really simple to install and cost effective. I would highly recommend this item to anybody even if you do have help on most of your projects.

Great accessory but pay attention to bracket installation!
Great accessory for the saw, but when I first installed it, it seemed to slide in and out poorly and the slots in the support did not line up with two miter slots on the saw. I may have missed this in the directions, but the two mounting brackets for the support go on facing the same direction. In other words, on one of the brackets you'll be able to see the hole for the adjustment screw and on the other bracket you won't (there's only one adjustment screw provided so the adjustment hole that you can't see isn't needed). I took off one bracket, re-installed it to face the same direction as the other bracket and now the support moves easily and its perfectly aligned with the miter slots. I saw several reviews stating the support was not aligned well and this may explain some of that. Other than my initial faulty installation, this works great. So well in fact that I ordered the side support...

Backwards mounting necessary
If you mount the extension according to the instructions, the miter bar is blocked from extending past the table edge as the slots in the extension are in the wrong place; it is necessary to mount the extension backwards so that the slots in the extension line up with the slots in the table; I contacted Bosch about this error and they agreed that it has to be mounted backwards to the table. Unfortunately this means that the piece sticks out from the side and if the extension is pushed completely back into the table, the guide bar is blocked. I'm surprised that Bosch does not correct this manufacturing/design error.

Bosch TS 1002 Table Saw Rear Outfeed Support Extension
Easy to install notwithstanding the tight space it must fit into. Slides out easily and works perfectly when cutting longer board by yourself. Also adds a safety to cuts as boards no longer want to tip upwards once near the end of cuts.

Excellent addition to the table saw.
Came exactly as advertised. Went together easily and does the job expected. If you are thinking about this accessory, get the bundle deal that includes both extensions and the dust bag.

Useful and recommended
Well constructed. As with the left side support, which I ordered at the same time, the locking knob could be a little bit more beefier, as its location and size is somewhat cumbersome. Otherwise, a good product that is almost mandatory for the Bosch contractor saw that it fits.
