i bought the 32ft lights but it doesn’t cover my room...do i have to buy another 32ft light to connect to the original light?

you can bought extra16.4ft or 32.8ft, it depends on the length you want for your room

If the 32ft could not cover all the walls in my room, would it work to use a connector and buy the 16 ft version of the LED lights to finish it off?

I was able to connect the 32 ft strip to the 16 ft strip and I only have to use the control of the first strip to manipulate both sets of lights. See my comment on how to connect the two strips of lights.
