Great pack for the price.
Excellent pack. The link ups rattle so I would recommend taping them after purchase. I do 4 and 5 day pack hunts and I usually carry about 70lb of gear in with me on average. I have always over packed my Alice pack but after getting this pack. Night and day. I would like to have had more molly attachments and a few things I will be upgrading in the future but this pack is a great buy. While fully loaded with a long gun in carry it seems to favor the left side because the long gun is not in center carry. I offset this by how I put weight in the pack. Overall I am satisfied with my purchase.

Customizable
This pack is much larger than it appears on the images, it stands approximately 3 feet tall. This thing has plenty of room, and a metal bar that holds the top open. The top flap covers the upper half of the pack, which is nice, and at 7.2 pounds, is a manageable weight, but still feels extremely sturdy. The pins used to customize the size of the frame and placement of the shoulder straps come with cotter pins and rings. I recommend the rings, as the cotter pins will rotate and can poke you in the back and shoulders when moving. My only complaint, other than the cotter pins, is that it came with a secondary pack bag, which i won't use. I see the purpose in it, and i ordered the pack that came with it (I get that), but an option for a rain cover would have been nice. Further, for the purpose that i plan on using it, I will also drop the folding shelf to reduce the weight a little more. I have only taken it on one short hike, with a light load, but it seems to be sturdy. The zippers are large, solid, and tight, and the material appears like it will hold up to some abuse. Overall, I would recommend this pack, especially for the price point.

Its good enough for elk hunting
Its a very bulky pack. Thats good and bad. Went on an elk hunt that ended 30 mins after shooting light. Spent the rest of the day packing off of a mountain. Parts that were good: Well its got enough room for as much as you can lift. Before the hunt I used it to pack in 100 lbs of corn at a time on my oklahoma lease for my deer hunting. I would carry around my daughters on the shelf while mucking around at the farm. The spare pockets are great, and the basic idea is good. cons: After getting my elk down I packed out the first load and immediately cached my rifle at my pick up because it was flopping around while under weight. Its bulky as hell. Yes you can carry as much as you can lift, but the frame catches any tree limbs. Lucky for me, I was hunting mostly timber less areas of the mountain. If i had to make my way through any brush with the weight, well Id probably still be packing it out. The pockets are great if you're organized but its easy to loose stuff in the main compartment. Final gripe. im 5'10 (guys, if you're 5'10 stop saying youre 6 foot tall) and with a full pack, and it properly set up on my body, the top of the frame was in almost constant contact with the back of my head. It wasn't a deal breaker, but after 6 miles, a few hundred lbs and the knowledge that you have a few trips more, you won't like it. End of the day, Id buy it because its a good price. It holds up. Hell you can pull it off and wash the blood off it, slap it on and go hunt again. Im sure its going to be a great hike bag for back country camp outs. Would I take it to Alaska and hunt alders for moose? No. But for high country and desert, its good enough for a working man who spends his money where it counts.

Buy with Confidence
My Tidewe daypack couldn’t fit all my gear so I went with this behemoth! Totally worth it, there’s so much room and more to spare! They included a pack of rings to use instead of the cotter pins, which can poke you. So they listened and made that adjustment, totally cool. Material is well made, I’m 100% satisfied. I was skeptical after reading the reviews but glad it worked out!

Great Pack
This is Sooooo comfortable, I love the pack, You will spend a little time dialing in the fit, but it’s worth it, most the weight seams to disappear from your shoulders and transfers to hips ( like it is supposed to ). I also own a frame in pack that is not as comfortable. And it is supposed to be for Backpacking, this Hunting pack is likely going to be hunting and backpacking

Get what you pay for
I just started hunting a couple years ago and this was my "starter pack". I've packed out 3 caribou, 1 mountain goat, and 1 deer with it and probably did a couple dozen unsuccessful hikes/hunts with much lighter loads with it. I've also done ~50 training hikes around the neighborhood with it and a 50lb gravel bag and/or 25lb plate in the bag. CONS -There are some rub points on the back which can be uncomfortable and require a lot of readjusting -The cotter pins popped out on several occasions. Be sure to carry extras and/or some wire ties to hold them in place. -It's a little heavy and bulky. Especially if youre going up mountains and/or through alders. I'd snag and get stuck on occasions when my hunting partner could sneak through easier. -MOST IMPORTANT - the threading on the lumbar/waist almost immediately started to go on me and I was constantly repairing it with needle/thread and/or zip ties. Keep a close eye on it and carry a few zip ties with you in case you need an emergency repair on a heavy pack out. On the one hand, the rifle holder and straps holds your rifle in place really well. On the other hand, you have to undo a lot of straps to pop it out so that can take crucial seconds away from your final stalk if you arent prepared. PROS -relatively cheap. it was only $150 when I bought it -fairly roomy and lots of separate compartments for water, game bags, snacks, etc. I like the hip belt pockets for my range finder and stuffing my gloves and/or hat in. Not a bad starter pack or if youre only using it a couple times a year for deer and lighter game. But I wouldn't buy it again for the current price.

This is the backpack for me.
Price, size, ability of the things this pack can do. Pack weighs 7.5lbs, not sure how you could make this lighter without sacrificing quality. One reason it's heavier than some other packs is it's bigger. For the money and the quality, I'm very happy.

Take the bar off the top of the pack it gets in the way while bushwacking, also the horn is a good place to hang your rifle while you hike. Only draw back is that it’s loud. It squeaks and the connections from the frame to the pack jingle a little. Great for getting all your gear up the mountain. Very comfy just wish it was a little quieter for hunting

So I was using a high sierra foxhound 50 before. It did the job, but by the time you lashed the tent, tossed some clothes in, an ax poking out the top, sleeping bag, dishes, knives, and a couple small propane canisters, that was it. Your bag was stuffed. So for my birthday I decided to upgrade, and it was what I needed. Here is the point by point review. Pros 1) rugged but lightweight. Very strong frame and strong bag material 2) lashing points galore, and comes with extra buckles and straps 3) the frame is adjustable. I sit at 6ft, and I needed to knock the top bar up a notch to not hit my head. This is easily done by pulling the pins, sliding it up, and reracking the pins 4) large pockets. That top front pocket? You can fit a whole boundless voyage grill in it with ease. The side pockets? Easily fitting the propane canisters that the foxhound struggled with. That big side pocket? I fit a bowie, a kukari, a hatchet, 150ft of polyurethane rope, and a collapsible cooking tripod in. 5) that shelf is perfect. If you pack it haphazardly, you'll have 12 inches of space. If you pack it smart, you'll get just over 15 inches of room. This is perfect, because I'm lashing a 15x15x30 duffle to the bottom 6) the freighter frame is sturdy. But the meat carrier is even cooler, with pockets of its own 7) the rifle lashing is great, the muzzle holder slides out of a magnetically closing stash pocket. And, that pocket will hold the stirrup for a crossbow, and the lashing procedure will remain the same for rifle and crossbow 8) the meat carrier has an extra buckle that can comfortably hold a 2.5 pound ax, and the waistband holds the handle in place. It remains comfortable to wear with the ax in place. 9) the top pocket on the bag is spacious. Right now I have a ferro rod, a flag, a shovel, and a variety of other bits and pieces. 10) ridiculous size of the main pocket. And I do mean ridiculous. Before I started lashing to the frame, I tested and the main pocket will fit a two man tent, the 2.5 pound ax, a sleeping bag, clothing, and still with room to spare. Cons 1) the pins can be a nightmare to pull in and out. I'm a 250 pound man, and I had to put all my weight into it with the bottom pins to plug the bag to the frame. 2) some of the buckles are threaded backwards. That's an easy fix, really. 3) other than holding the ax, when the bag itself is strapped to the frame, the meat carrier serves no other purpose. However, it's not in the way, it just exists. Overall, I would recommend this bag to anyone that needs a bag for vanishing into the woods for a week or two, as opposed to a day or weekend bag. If you're only going out for a weekend, it's overkill, but you'll still look awesome wearing it.

This bag is huge. It fits all my stuff from my 50l hunting bag in the bottom third of the bag. I'll have room for a sleeping bag, tent, sleeping pad a couple changes of clothes, and probably 5 or 6 days of food if properly packed. The bag, the pack out harness and frame are very well thought out. The rifle Sling is held in by 2 hinged pockets that hold a case of shells in each pocket, with room for extras like compass, maps, snacks, etc. The spotting scope pocket is a bit small. My 20 - 90x 65 scope is stretching the pocket a bit and I will either try to upgrade to a smaller scope or just put the scope in the main compartment and try to find a larger tripod to fit in that pocket. The pack out harness has pockets for GPS units, bear spray, and your trekking poles. Which fits over top of the bag. There are adjustment straps all over the place and it only took me about 5 or 6 pulls on a few of them for me to get the bag comfy half packed. I can imagine this will be very comfortable carrying a hind quarter out of the bush back to the quad this coming fall. If you're on the fence about this bag get it. For the price point it's very nice. It's a heavy bag so if you're looking to cut weight you can probably cut weight on the money you save by buying a nice tent and sleeping system.
