Keyecu Replacement Smart Remote Key Fob 5 Button for Cadillac STS CTS 2008-2013

Easy to program, should have replaced the old one earlier, didn’t realize how easy it was

Great value for the price! So much cheaper than going through the dealer! Programming was simple, I had an existing fob so I didn't have to do the long time consuming way. Literally took 30 seconds to program. You can still program without an existing fob in the US (not in Canada), you just need the physical key and it takes 30 minutes. Anyhow, the CTS owners manual says to put the working fob in the cup holder then get out of the car and put the key in the key hole on the driver's door and turn it to unlock 5 times quickly within 5 seconds. Well my coupe doesn't have a driver door key hole so with a little help from Mr. Internet I found out you have to put the key in the trunk hole and then turn it 5 times quickly. Then, get back in the car and put the new fob in the holder inside the armrest with the buttons facing forward. The display will say programming #3 or whatever number you have, and then it is done. Literally took 5 seconds for that part. Instructions then say to take the new fob out and hit the unlock button twice, then turn the ignition key to on to exit programming. That's it! Worked like a charm for me! Now if I could just get the seat memory matched to the new fob it will be perfect!

Worked properly for about 3 weeks. I thought the battery was going dead so I replaced it but that didn’t change anything. By the time I got a new battery it was past the 30 day return policy. It won’t lock the car or pop the trunk. It takes 5+ tries to get the ignition to recognize the fob so I can start it. As soon as I turn the car off it says key undetected. I bought it in June and by July it was trash. Buyer beware!!!

This was a good purchase. I took it be activated by the service department.

This key remote worked perfectly for my 2012 ctsv. My old case cracked and fell apart. I tried other brands without success. This was my last attempt and this one finally worked for me. This fob is approximately 3mm longer but unless you put it next to the oem one you would never know. I also removed the oem Cadillac emblem off the back and transferred it to this new remote. The buttons are nice and crisp when you use them. I'm very happy with this and highly suggest it if you are on the fence.

got two, one didnt 'program' and I hear they tend to be like that cant say more or review wont be published

I've ordered 3 of these fobs for a 08 CTS & they were very easy to program & work just as the original fobs. If your car had the maximum amount already programmed you have to erase/delete all the fobs & then reprogram original & the new ones. I had to do that the last time & process takes a little longer, but still very easy. Just follow the instructions provided or Google how to program them. I haven't had to deal with customer service, so I can't speak to that. The product is exactly at described & works just like original with all functions working. They won't have the Cadillac emblem because they are after market. It does have the circle where the emblem would be, so you could possibly buy the emblem separate & glue it on if you really just had to have it. I have ordered 2 separate times, so I would obviously buy them again...

When in hand I can open the doors and trunk. I can also lock and unlock the doors. Unfortunately using the key fob I cannot remotely open the trunk nor start the car with the key fob. Sadly the blank key in the key fob is the wrong size and cannot be cut to be able to open the driver side door. I hope Keyecu will be able to remedy these shortcomings. Will let you know. Update: Keyecu sent me a replacement keyfob. Blank key is the right size and all remotes are working. Now five stars ... many thanks.
