Zoo Med Avian Calcium, 3 Ounce Jar (85g)

I had bought this Avian Calcium from Doctors Foster and Smith awhile back; they are a site I trust for good products and information. I now go to that site only for specified selections, and instead come to Amazon for reasonable prices and better shipping options (unless you buy a certain amount from the other site, the shipping and some products can be costly). I have had my Cockatiel for 14 years and his feet had lost gripping power and sometimes he fell from his perch. My veterinarian said to find good food for bone strength, feed him more eggs and meat, as well as buy edible calcium powder for his bones. One powder I tried he could either taste or smell and refused to eat it, and some liquid options wet the food and make it go bad faster. I love this Zoo Med - Avian Calcium: I mix it into his food dish and he eats it like there is nothing there. You can sprinkle it on fresh food or millet as well, just don't over use it past the directions. After 4 months my bird began gripping stronger and does not fall from his perch anymore, I am truly happy with this product and hope it adds many years to my life long best friend.

Great product, I had no issues. I would definitely suggest that any bird owner invest in this product. I feel that it is a much safer alternative to Cutt and bones cause at the end of the day or with my birds the Cutler bones always end up at the bottom of the birdcage and I was always having to replace or buy a bunch at a time does basically the same thing at a cheaper cost and last way much longer, especially during molts and breeding seasons so yes definitely suggest anybody thinking about purchasing this product too. Please do it for your birds, they thank you later. soon as I get through with this submission, I’m definitely flying over there to the shopping area of Amazon in person again.. hope you have a nice flocking day

Easy to use and my bird didn’t refuse it

I like this but i was thinking this would come with that top where you can pour on one side and sprinkle on the other. So I’m not too happy with the packaging, it is so much messier, calcium powder gets EVERYWHERE every time I open it. But it does it’s job so I can’t complain too much. It’s been helping my finches who seem to get egg bound a lot. Even though they’ve got plenty of cuttle bones and stuff.

Good stuff

I have two pet pigeons that are very picky about their food. This supplement is wonderful in that, not only do my birds love it, the powder its self sticks to the seeds without becoming chalky or sticking only to the oiler seeds. It is easy to dispense by shaking a bit on, or by opening up the other side and measuring out a specific amount. I then just mix it up with the seed. It mixes very well. I would estimate that given the size of the jar, and how little I actually need to use to maintain healthy calcium levels, (specific to my bird's vet recommendations) this jar should last several months for my two birds. This is a good quality product, and it is great for picky birds. A wonderful alternative to the flavored calcium supplements.

When the company, that I purchased this Calcium from, went out of business, I almost panicked. Then I learned I could purchase it here and I was so relieved !! I have an African Grey parrot and they must have calcium every day or they will die. I have found that this calcium is the best calcium for my bird. He is big and strong and is very healthy, thanks to this calcium product !!!!

I use this for my peach faced lovebird because birds need calcium haha. The directions were a bit unclear but what you have to do is add 1 cc (or 1 ml) to every ounce of food and stir it, I typically give my bird 2 ounces of food which he eats in like 2 days, so I only put this in every other time I feed him. I also bought a scale to weigh the food and then a measuring spoon that was 1 ml and it works really well!

Value for money / delivery time as expected BUT I'm still none the wiser how im meant to feed it to my birds

Mes perroquets ont toujours trié pour ne pas en manger . Donc j'en ai donné à mes 7 poules cet hiver et ça réglé un petit de coqillues molles à l'occasion Jen ai racheté mais pour mes poules non pas pour mes perroquets 🤣
