Drytex Lateral J Buttress Universal Designed Patella Knee Support Brace with Aluminum Hinge for Left Leg (Large, Black)

I got this with a warehouse deal for much less than the list price otherwise this would have been 2 stars. This does a very good job of holding my knee cap in place. But, this device is really flimsy and I do not think it will stand up to many uses. After five uses, the stitching around the Velcro is starting to come undone. The Velcro straps hold very very strong. Once it is in place, it is difficult to peel apart. I did measure my leg and purchased the size accordingly. It fits snug and properly. I have a M#*avid brand brace which is much more durable and provides almost the same knee cap support. Update 6/26/16-. Updated from 3 stars to 5. The brace is still going strong despite the early indicators otherwise. This is now my go to brace. I do training daily and yoga a few times a week and this keeps my knee cap in place perfectly. I have a couple of solid months of abuse on this thing and it looks pretty good after I trimmed the initial fraying off. I will be buying another one of these when this one wears out.

My boyfriend unfortunately dislocated his knee for the second time at work and workers comp disnt get him the proper therapy and treatment needed for him to heal. This is the only thing along with walks that has made him feel safe to walk. He sleeps in it, work in it, washes it weekly and since he washes it with his work clothes he is on his third pair. But its worth buying it 100x it makes you feel secure and does the job

My son has had great success with this brace in the past, so I decided to purchase a replacement on Amazon. So far, Amazon has sent the WRONG brace TWICE. This item clearly states it’s the hinged version. Amazon keeps sending the one without a hinge which is NOT what I’m ordering or paying for. The hinged version nearly twice the cost of the unhinged version they keep sending!

Lasts a long time. Very happy with the quality. I got a similar thing, same brand, through the insurance company, and that one tore the first time my daughter put it on. This one is so much better.

A little uncomfortable and scratchy without a sleeve underneath, but supports the kneecap well. Would recommend.

I couldn’t find a size chart for this product in this listing. Which I think is ridiculous. All the size charts I found online for Donjon braces were consistent that a size small measures 15.5-18.5 at the upper thigh for a size small brace. My daughter measured at 16. So she should have barely fit into this brace. It should have been a little loose. This brace is tight on her. I don’t normally write reviews but the measurements are extremely misleading. If you’re going to pay this kind of money for a brace it should fit you. The brace itself is excellent. It’s well built…not chunky and has great support for the patella. My daughter dislocates her knee easily. We will be able to keep this brace because it will stretch. but being that she fit the bare minimum measurements to fit into it…this brace should have lasted her a few years. It will not. I read in other reviews there is no return policy which to me feels fraudulent since the measurements are obviously off and this runs extremely small.

Feels great and fits well!

There are “no returns” on this brace because they are terribly made. Fit is great. This is my second one. The first one worked great but started getting runs and tears, even ripped after 3 months. I did order a second thinking it was a fluke because it was the only brace that supported and fit me right, but less than 2 months in and it’s even worse than the first one… very disappointed in quality

This is the brace that was prescribed by our specialist for my daughters fat pad impingement syndrome after dislocating her knee cap. It's an excellent supportive brace that isn't too hot for summer and makes her feel safe when doing activities. We highly recommend it.

Brace met my expectations. The J brace supports the patella and provides the needed lateral stability without the bulkiness of a hinged brace.
