Great Halloween costume accessory!

This item was perfect for my son’s mining engineer costume. The light works wonderfully. He LOVED it!

Ordered this for our 5-year old son. He wore it during a trip to Forbidden Caverns in Sevierville, TN. The good: The light worked fine for us. It won't light up the room but it does cast some light; especially in a really dark room. When we bought our tickets for the Cavern the lady asked us if the light worked and I told her it did but wasn't very bright. I think it was too bright they may have told him not to turn it on. As it is they weren't bothered by it at all. The hat size was fine for his head. The adjustable strap inside helped but tended to loosen up. Some duct tape or some kind of fastener would probably prevent that from happening. The bad: Yeah, the front of the light was a little tough to get off (to install batteries) but not a huge deal. The adjustable strap won't hold its place and causes the hat to slip around on his head a bit; this hat is not made for serious play. Having said all that, for the price we paid, and for the purpose we bought it, it was fine. A little more initiative by me would have easily fixed the band issue.

I purchased this for my son's walk through California presentation, he was dressed up as a miner. The hat made the outfit look great. I believe the "light" was there for decoration because there was no way to turn it on. The one time my son wore it was during the presentation. He jumped up in excitement and the helmet fell to the ground, breaking off the lamp. So for a one-time use, it looks good. For kids' use, you might end up with a helmet and no light.

Perfect Halloween costume topper for a kid who wants to be a construction worker when he grows up.

This is great for a Halloween costume, only issue was with the light. The batteries sat too loose in it so if it got jostled a little bit the light would no longer work. I had to do some creative metal bending but got the batteries to stay connected even when the wearer was running.

It didn’t come with adjustable straps in the hat so it couldn’t even be used. It was huge on my daughter for a costume she was wearing.

I was worried that this wouldn't fit my head even though it's relatively small but it did, it was actually a bit bigger. The straps inside to tighten the hat helped and did not have any problems with it falling off all of Halloween. You don't have to have the light angled up to keep it on, you just toggle the button on and off behind it as needed. Even though I bought this for Halloween I still use this for fun randomly, battery lasts a long time, light isn't great but not like you'll be doing any real mining with it. Also sturdy plastic so it will last for some time.
