Review: Not enough hands - July, 2014 -- This trolling motor works great, but I underestimated the difficulty of holding the remote in one hand while trying to fish with the other. The foot control didn't help. I'm going with the Minn Kota Fortrex or Motor Guide Tour on my other boat. Sept, 2014 -- After having used the Motorguide Wireless for two months, I am even less enthusiastic about my purchase. It is very jerky if you forget to turn the speed down before shutting down and reaching for the remote is driving me crazy. The wireless makes for great novelty, but lousy for serious fishing. May, 2015 -- The Motorguide wireless lasted for less than a year. Worked last summer but when I got it out to start the 2015 season the wireless would not connect to the remote or the foot pedal. All I got was a long beep that would not shut off. So I called Motorguide -- Ugh! what an experience that was -- the guy was totally unhelpful and sounded like he wasn't the least bit interested in my problem. He said I would have to take it in to a service center to have it repaired. Great, the closest service center is 100 miles away. Seems like Motorguide has a design problem. My passive frustration has turned to unmitigated anger! Review: Two Stars - I like the concept but had it less than 6 months and already in the shop.

didn't fit my bass boat
It seemed like an interesting idea. I always like things that allow me to be lazier. However, they don't mention on Amazon that this thing has almost zero clearance from the mount. I have a 19' Cobra and the slope was too gentle for this to mount on the bow. This trolling motor will basically have to be mounted on the 90 degree drop off of a pontoon boat or flat deck. I thought about building some kind of contraption to mount it to my boat, but I just returned it instead and got a 82lb motorguide foot control. Keeping it simple.

Had trouble understanding how to set it up but now it works great
when I finally had the weather in my favor to put this trolling motor on my boat, i find out it doesn't work, brand new motor and it doesn't register any power. now since the thirty days have elapsed, (shouldn't have bought it in the winter) I cannot return this and will have to see (at additional expense) if I can get it fixed,,, since it arrived unoperatable i probably doubt it or it would have been fixed at the dealer.. Thanks,,, for nothing,, except all the work and still sitting at the dock... wnated to add on to this review. I didnt realize that the voltage had to be over a certain amount of volts for this to work, had to upgrade my wiring, when I did this it works just fine and I love it. works anywhere in the pontoon and the handheld remote is excellent, the foot control is a little hard to use but if you get used to it it also works ok. Overall I would definitly buy another one.

Wife of the year with this one
My husband loves this trolling motor. Works great on his Ranger 375V bass boat. So easy to use and to lift back onto the boat. My husband takes the boat out quite a bit by himself and this has really made his time on the water so much more enjoyable and effortless. I got him wireless remote to use with it and he can control the trolling motor from anywhere in the boat. The first time he had it out on the lake he could here a couple of guys whispering how is he doing that. Great pricepoint and worth every penny.

I love the concept and it does work well
I've had my motor for about 2 years, it is starting to give me trouble. I haven't contacted them yet, the warranty was up a couple months ago. It's either a problem with the wireless module, or it is ceasing at high speeds. I love the concept and it does work well. If you buy it, get the wireless key chain remote, it's great. You can run 2 remotes, so my guy in front can foot control, and if he hooks up (or tangles) you can take over.
