Beautiful!
I've been eyeballing these chimes for months and I'm so glad I purchased. I was searching for a very large windchime to hang outside our kitchen. Not wanting to commit to the price of these, I purchased a much cheaper large chime (NOT a woodstock brand chime) from a local garden center. It was horrible! There are definitely differences in quality chimes. The prior one was so annoying and sounded like aluminum cans clashing together with the slightest breeze. As I was sure I was annoying the entire neighborhood (and myself) I took them down within 3 days and returned. I own two other woodstock chimes, and I know their quality and sound, so decided to bite the bullet and purchase these. They are heavy, and my boyfriend was grumbling while hanging them up that we were going to hear these things clanging together at all hours. I assured him with the weight and quality of these there would be no problems. And I was right! When a breeze kicks them up, they have the most beautiful soft sound that resonates. I'm sitting here in my kitchen right now with the window open so I can enjoy them. We haven't had a storm roll through yet or any high wind, so I am not sure how they sound with a heftier breeze, but I'm sure it will be lovely and I kind of can't wait for that to happen! Very pleased with the purchase.

Doesn't Have That Woodstock Sound
Probably ten to fifteen years ago (maybe longer), I bought a huge Woodstock Chime. It was loud and low and beautiful. It sounded like church and I loved, loved it. Finally recently the cord or line, that holds the flapper, broke and of course it looked a little rough, out in the weather as it had been all that time. The decision was made to replace it. Tried to find the closest thing to it and this one seemed to be it. I gave the old one away to someone who wanted to try to repair it. Just wish I had it back but I can't do that. So, here I am, not very happy with this one and there is nothing I can do about it, except tell you about the experience. Oh, and the first one was made in the USA, but this one was not! Do you think there could be a connection??

I love Woodstock chimes
I love Woodstock chimes. This set, the Hera, is the 4th I've owned but my favorite. The price on Amazon compared to the mfg sight is substantially less; which makes these chimes affordable for me. The tones in the "Hera" are so deep, resonant & rich. What's really surprising is the slightest air movement will brush them up against the striker for a "barely there" tone that somehow seems to automatically trigger a hum in me. Weird. I wonder what they're going to be like when the Albuquerque wind really hits them. I enjoy so much the deeper tones like the Hera, Westminster, Java bells; not tinkly, high pitched, clangy, sharp. My only complaint is I need to find a new place to hang them as they are as tall as I am! I need to get the wind catcher off the ground.

Magnificent Chimes
The Chimes arrived well packed and survived being flown to South Africa. They are huge and needs a sturdy metal wall bracket(not supplied). They sound amazing and start singing as soon as they were up. The four stars were awarded for the lack of a proper ring at the top for it to hook onto a bracket and for misleading customers that think they get a American Made product. I am sure that Woodstock ensure quality at their Chinese Factory, but this information is not displayed on their website. The Chimes were much cheaper at Amazon than Woodstock's own site.

Sounds great - looks great.
Deep, rich tones - this tuning was chosen because it does NOT sound like church bells. Looks GREAT hanging in our yard. Choked on the price a bit, but in the end they are of such high quality that we are sure to have them for years. Worth it.

A symphony of chimes
The sound from these chimes is simply FAN-tastic! I arranged all my wind chimes around my house so that the different pitches make it sound like a symphony. But I will tell you that before ordering these babies, you want to put some thought into where you want to hang them b/c they are hefty and they are tall, so they'll need lots of room...especially on really breezy days when the wind gets them moving. You don't want them banging into anything and damaging the pipes. But when all is said and done, you will be extremely happy. So hang and enjoy!

Church Bells in my back yard
Sounds like you have some church bells in the background. Nice background and the neighbors love it too. :) Our favorite is the Paradise. :) Edit 1/17/14 Had this for a while now. We have this installed in more open area where it can get quite windy. The sound is great when a breeze flows by but when the wind picks up more than just a small breeze, this chimes starts to sound like a bunch of pipes just clanking together. Kind of like a sound if a person was to drop a stack of metal pipes. The beauty of the sound can quickly disappear if the wind is more than a mild breeze. Still love our Paradise woodstock chime. It seems to have a beautiful melody no matter how hard or low the wind is going. Never get tired of that one.

Too church like for me.
My father purchased these for my step mother's birthday. They are extremely big as others have stated, but are not a deep enough sound for his liking. I personally like them and they remind me of church bells. I am writing this as him though so will keep it there. The wind if above 13 mph or so it seems they don't chime any more and the blade on the bottom just spends without moving the wood in the middle enough to really make nice sounds. And then if its gets much more windy than that the chimes begin to hit eachother which is unpleasant. For the cost I think I would look elsewhere or at least a different style of chimes.

these chimes sound beautiful and they are very large. You need a bit of a breeze to get them going as they are very heavy. I would highly recommend these windchimes!
