It’s been a rather long time since I handled a glass Petri dish so I don’t have a good comparison handy but these do seem rather thin. However, there has to be some sort of trade-off when you’re getting 5 for not much more than the price of one. The main problem is going to be storing these in a household situation such that they won’t get broken. I cut squares of bubble wrap and put those between the dish sides and the tops. That ensures no rattling. The factory seems to be separating the tops and bottoms with only a sheet of tissue paper. It seems like a thin foam sheet or something might be a better choice. Other quality issue that usually won’t matter is that the glass is not perfectly flat, but is a little distorted as seen in the photos. If these cost any more than they do they’d be getting 3 stars but for the price I think 5 is reasonable. I doubt these are really durable enough for something like a heavily used lab or school situation. Even if everyone is always careful, they probably just won’t be able to endure as much heating, cooling, and handling as thicker glass. But around here they won’t get used constantly so should be fine for what I need.

These are good and sturdy the only problem that I realized is that it dose not come with the agar.

GUYS, A PETRI DISH SUPPOSED TO CLOSED PERFECTLY WITH ITS LID. In my opinion this petri dish doesn't have lid, it just has another sized petri dish pack in to the same box. The lid supposed to match the petri dish perfectly. Don't waste your money on this
