Castle Art Supplies - Set of 72 colored pencils with soft core for artists, professionals and adult colorists, sturdy zipper case for easy carrying

I purchased 2 of these colored pencil sets for my kids in preparation for our LONG travel days last Christmas multiple flights across the country and back). At the time, my kids were ages 4 and 7. Both directions of travel were over 12 hour travel days. I was hoping that by purchasing each child individual travel sets, they would easily be able to keep themselves entertained and not lose pencils. WOW! These sets did NOT disappoint. They are absolutely AMAZING, and we will be lifelong customers! I foresee purchasing several more sets in the future (for my kids again and as gifts to ANY artist). These sets are by FAR the BEST colored pencils I have ever seen...and they instantly made both young children into incredible artists! There are SO MANY great features about them that I don't even know where to begin. Let me first say that we experienced extremely lengthy flight delays, so sadly we were stuck in airports for 5-6 hours at a time. It was Christmas time, so it was VERY cramped, and the kids often didn't have much space. However, these sets and coloring books were heaven sent. Both kids just quietly colored for hours on end. Strangers kept remarking how impressive they were. They both had iPads as well, but instead for most of the travel days, they just pulled out their coloring sets and did that instead. I'm talking in the airport on the ground, on the airplanes themselves, waiting at baggage claims, in the rental car...EVERYWHERE! They are also not the type of kids who easily just sit and color. As much as I can give credit to the pencils for their behavior...I'm telling you that my husband and I were dumbfounded at how much they loved these pencils so much! Here are some of the really amazing features of this product: 1. The zippered case is one of the many awesome features. Since my kids are only 4 and 7, one big problem we have with any coloring sets is losing pieces, not being able to open or close the case by themselves, keeping everything together, etc. Both kids were in charge of their own cases and had no problem smoothly opening, closing, and tracking everything all by themselves. 2. Each pencil is numbered!! This seems like a very simple concept, but it is REALLY incredible. I have a few OCD tendencies and I am a designer, so I really like keeping things in order and in place. The fact that the colored set is numbered and you know exactly how they are intended to be ordered is pretty cool. Especially with one kid at an age where she's still learning to count to 100 and visually identify the numbers on her own, this was pretty cool and made her feel important. It's a great way to stay organized. 3. Not to be a broken record about the amazing case, but EACH and EVERY pencil has it's own elastic holder slot. So it's very easy to see if there is a color missing. It's also great for kids this age to help not lose pencils (which is pretty impossible to do at this age). However, it makes if VERY simple when I say...only remove one pencil at a time, and make sure to put it back in the place that it belongs before grabbing your next color. I know...a little crazy to do for kids who want to grab a million colors at once...but it really did help us from losing any during this 10 day trip where we stayed at 5 different places throughout. We were ALWAYS moving on the go and they never lost any pencils. The other thing this was great for is when we WERE missing a pencil or two, because they're numbered and in order, we knew what color was missing to look for and able to find them. 4. The quality of the pencils themselves are phenomenal. They are wax-based pencils that sharpen very crisp and easily. The quality of color is unbeat. The versatility of type of paper surfaces they can color on is impressive. The vibrancy of the colors is also very good. Even many months later, my kids still use their colored pencil sets every single day and spends hours on end watching "How To" videos on YouTube and can draw MUCH better than me (or any other adult I know). FYI "Art for Kids Hub" YouTube channel is mindblowing. If your kid is an aspiring artist, have them watch a few step-by-step videos on here and you'll be blown away at how amazing they'll be able to draw. All-in-all, I just have to say that this was a really tremendous find. I was just looking for something to help us on one trip, but now I've found a lifetime product that we'll love forever! Thanks for making such a great product!

These colored pencils are great! My girls have been full-blown artists since they arrived! They love how rich the colors are and that they are easy to sharpen, but don’t break every time you drop them. The little tutorial book that came with them gave a nice tip that they like to use, which is to turn the sharpener while sharpening, not the pencil (who knew?! 😂) The tutorial book legit led to an impromptu half-day long homeschool class because we were all so interested and there was so much amazing information in it for beginners and beyond. It’s beautifully illustrated and a nice addition, which we weren’t expecting. I personally LOVE the case that they came in, especially for younger artists because we have struggled in the past to keep the pencils together long enough to even use them up, but this case has a spot for each pencil and they WANT to put them back in their respective places...genius! The girls also loved the color swatch card that was included. It has a blank square for you to color in with each pencil that is marked with corresponding numbers on the pencils. They spent a half hour just matching the numbers on the pencils to the numbers on the card to test each pencil out! Now they keep that card in the carrying case and look to it often to decide which color they want. Overall, I would highly recommend this set to anyone wanting a really nice set of pencils but don’t want to break the bank! These are very sturdy, and well worth the great pencils plus the little extras that this company has thoughtfully included!!

Bought these to replace my missing Premier pencils and didn't want to spend over a hundred for the same amount of pencils. Saw that these come with a nice pencil case for under $45, which I was like SCORE. I never had Caste Art anything before, so I was primarily going in blind only knowing that they were comparable to Premier according to the reviews. Have to say...they really are. They are very smooth to use, only have found a few 'knots' in the colors (hard spots), and the colors are vivid. They don't streak, nor break when you press harder. They can blend really well, and better yet the colors all have simple names that are standard throughout the entire line of Caste Arts. No more having to remember P##### to replace things. The range of colors in this pack is also very nice, each color range has several hues and shades. The color also stays on the paper with none of those pesky dust particles that get every where and smear when you move your hand over them. Doesn't have a waxy feel on the paper either. You do have to build the color up, so the tip does not stay well pointed for very long, but it's a softer color blend (sorry I forget what the color stick is called) so makes sense. The case is really sturdy feeling with a hard cover and elastic bands to hold the pencils in place. So I would say that for less than $50 these are a great deal and I look forward to trying other Castle Arts things.

I love this set of colored pencils, because of the variety of colors, as well as the carrying case. Also, they did not break as often or as easily as other sets I currently own.

Este estuche me sorprendió por la calidad de los lápices. Los 72 colores tienen un pigmento muy bonito, se mezclan fácilmente y permiten hacer degradados suaves. La mina es resistente, no se rompe al afilar y se desliza con suavidad en el papel. Además, el estuche con cremallera es muy práctico y elegante, perfecto para llevarlos a cualquier parte. Los recomiendo muchísimo para colorear libros, ilustraciones o simplemente disfrutar dibujando.

Zu den Buntstiften: Es sind 72 Stück, alle in einer tollen Qualität, die Stifte fühlen sich Smooth auf dem Blatt an und lassen sich auch gut layern. Dabei Krümmeln die Stifte nicht und geben echt toll ihre Farbe ab, die Stifte sind echt hoch pigmentiert, man bekommt also schon she gute Qualität. Die Stifte sind auf Wachsbasis, das Holz ist Lindenholz, also kein schlechtes Holz aber auch kein High end Holz wie bei den anderen genannten Stiften. Die Stifte lassen sich auch alle sehr gut anspitzen. Wer also anfangen will mit Buntstiften zu malen oder wer nicht zu den Polychromos oder Luminance auf gurund des recht hohen Prieses beider genannter Stifte greifen möchte, der findet hier eine schöne Alternative. Es wäre super schön, wenn man diese Stifte auch außerhalb des Sets einzeln erwerben könnte, das würde einiges vereinfachen um an neue Stifte heran zu kommen, wenn diese dann mal am ende sind, man hat ja bevorzugte Farben, diese werden also als erstes ausgehen, und dann müsste man sich ein neues Set kaufen, oder man wechselt, nach und nach jede Farbe gegen einen der 2 genannten Premium Marken aus. Wer also anfangen will mit Buntstiften zu malen oder wer nicht zu den Polychromos oder Luminance auf gurund des recht hohen Prieses beider genannter Stifte greifen möchte, der findet hier eine schöne Alternative [Vorausgesetzt es macht einem nichts aus, dass die Stifte wie gesagt nicht einzeln zu erwerben sind. Ich hoffe, dass man aber in Zukunft die Stifte einzeln bekommen kann] Kurz zur Tasche: Die Tasche ist gut, jeder Stift hat seinen eigenen Platz da drin, und die Tasche lässt sich gut öffnen und schließen, der Reißverschluss macht also was er soll :D. Man sollte die Tasche jedoch am anfang lüften, damit der anfängliche Geruch verfliegt, nach 1-2 Tagen ist der Geruch aber restlos verschwunden. Der Service vom Castle Art ist der HAMMER! Ich hatte einen Stift im set, bei dem mit jedem Anspitzversuch die Spitze abgebrochen ist (kann halt den besten Marken vorkommen, ich hatte auch schon einen Polychromo wo die Mine rausgefallen ist, obwohl diese verleimt sein sollte.). Aber der Castle Art Service meldet sich nach Kontaktaufnahme extrem schnell (ich habe nichtmal 2 Stunden auf eine Antwort warten müssen) und findet zusammen mit euch eine Lösung, die euch zufrieden stellen wird, also der Service ist echt der Hammer, da könnten sich viele Firmen eine Dicke Scheibe von abschneiden. Also alles in allem Top Stifte zu fairem Preis :D
