Whats the thickest metal it can punch through?,and is it just for aluminum,or can it punch through ss,mild steel,etc,etc??

I've been using the 5/32" punch on mild steel though 14 gauge (~1.9 mm, .075"). It pops right through 22 ga...14 ga requires a fair bit of effort, but the holes are clean.

Would this work to punch many holes in 1/8" thick steel plates? Are the bits durable? Or should I just use a drill?

Sorry. Stay with the drill. The punch is only designed for about 18ga. metal or softer materials. 1/8" plate is 0.125 thousands of an inch. 18ga. is only a few thousands thicker than your car fender. Most fenders are 22ga.

Could I punch a hole in a silver quarter to make rings?
