Ear Muffs-Black W20S35A

Why are all the other earmuffs so enormous? I just needed a small pair that won't make me look like Princess Leia. These are perfect. They fold up small. You do have to be careful when extending the top band. It will snap if you're rough with it. (That's how I lost my last pair.)

Hard to find this style earmuffs. Couldn't be happier...I use them when I play golf in cooler temps and they fit right over my baseball hat. They are also keep my ears warm. Reduce down to a small size so easy to store in my golf bag.

I was excited when I opened the package because at first these appeared to be exactly what I ordered and expected. However, these are so cheaply made. When I went to try them on, one of the ear muffs popped right off of the plastic headband. I was able to snap it back in but it kept snapping out each time I unrolled them to put them on. All I kept thinking about was all of the bad reviews I had read and figured I should have listened... Upon examining the grooves that were the source of the problem, it was clear that these were so cheaply made that there was no fixing the problem. Also, I was willing to overlook this at first, but it should be noted that the size of the muffs themselves are smaller than average. I am a woman with relatively small ears and I have worn earmuffs for 20 plus years--these are smaller than usual and just barely covered my ears. I could have probably lived with the smaller size if they didn't otherwise break apart so easily, as I was looking for something that could easily fit in my coat pocket and not stick out too much. Thankfully the return was free.

Warm. Adjustable. Comfortable

These ear muffs were nearly impossible to get "open"...that is, they come folded up on itself, and to unfold them to get them on, it took about 10 minutes! (really) They just snapped back into a bundle, the plastic headpiece was so stiff. Once opened up,it was a real struggle to keep them that way just to get them on my head, they kept folding up into a tight bundle again. The ear pieces are nice and warm and confortable, but the plastic headpiece is NOT! The two adjustable pieces stick into the scalp and are really uncomfortable unless you have something else on your head under it. Plus the headpiece is smooth and slippery so it tends to slide off the head. They were inexpensive so I will not return them but they are not very user friendly, especially in the beginning when they don't want to open up and the ear pieces keep rotating around.....It was almost comical trying to just get them on my head!!!! If they came with a soft user friendly headpiece I would recommend since the ear pieces are pretty warm once you actually get them on!

If you were looking for ear muffs like you had when you were a kid, which I was, these are not quite them, but close. On the plus side, they are a good size to cover the ears and are adjustable (piece over the top of the head has a "slide"); they also fold up to fit in a coat pocket. On the minus side, they are not terribly well padded or insulated so they don't keep you warm in really cold temps. They also fit in such a way that there is a little gap so they let in wind/draft on windy days. Part of this is because the adjustable head piece that goes over the top of your head is made of cheap plastic, like everything now, instead of metal like they used to be, so you cannot bend them at all to adjust them to conform better to your ears/head. I also worry that with time, or in extremely cold temps, the plastic may become brittle and break when you try to unfold them or adjust them, though I have not had that problem yet. I solved some of the insulation and fit problems by adding padding to them, though a person hates to have to re-work a brand new purchase. Over all, fairly good ear muffs though not perfect by any means.

These are nice, but I do not think they are worth $13.99 which I paid. They are not the larger earmuff, like I thought they were for the price. If they were priced around $7.99, I would have purchased additional for the family. I have found them at Walmart for that price, but not so far this year. They do fit from adult to child which is cool adjustment span. They are not tight at all so you can hear conversations - not like the description. High winds do come in, but better than a bare ear.
