Easy to plug in and play through our Marantz amplifier and speakers. Sound quality is excellent. Can’t fault it. Cambridge Audio always come up with the goods and as a supplier to them many years ago it’s great to know the quality is still there. Sleek silver design. Comes with a remote control absolute bargain price during Prime day.

A very good player iam using the matching amplifier however i have found also the output to the ampkifier is too loud i had to use a seperate passive pre amp to adjust the output level when this was done the sound is very good i wonder if this is a slight fault as only one other person has mentioned it but i can assure him its not his nad amplifier iam using the matched cambridge audio amplifier and have the same issue that aside i bought the two bits of kit together iam very impressed sound and build is very good for the money i would. Recommend this set up as it is compact looks good and sounds great

I required a functional CD player to replace old kit - I hadn’t appreciated how limited the market was to be honest, but settled on the AXC25 at £229. As there are only 2 lines out, set-up was straight forward, plugging into an old, but excellent, Pioneer SA560 amp. I mention the amp, because, as other reviewers have mentioned, the output levels from the CD player seem very loud indeed. Make sure when setting up you have volume set low otherwise your speakers may suffer! Anything above 3 on the Amp dial is deafening, and I might look into this further. I presume if you have a Cambridge Audio Amp this may not be an issue, but bear it in mind. The sound is great, crystal clear, plays differing formats, and the remote control, which I’ll probably never use, does what you’d expect, including having a Random Play option. The CD Player looks pretty minimalistic and sleek too. I have given it only 4 stars because of the loud sound output, which I think is OTT. I note the online guide does not mention the loud output in the Troubleshooting section - Cambridge Audio should offer advice on this. Pretty happy with it so far though, and recommend to others.

I needed a new cd player to replace an ageing Cambridge Audio CD36 player that had started to have difficulty in reading some discs. Being a rock fan who listens to a lot of live albums and prog rock, having gapless playback was an absolute must. Happily both players in Cambridges AX range support this so it was a choice between the AXC25 or AXC35. As I don’t require a digital output the cheaper AXC25 was my choice (as far as I can see it’s identical in every other respect to the 35). I’m very happy indeed with it, sound quality is excellent and it does everything I need. One slight quirk is that the ON/OFF button on the the remote for my LG tv activates Play on the AXC25 so care needs to be taken if operating the tv and cd player at the same time ! Other than that, highly recommended.

This CD player ticks a great many boxes, and is very well made. Sound through my Arcam amp is extremely good.

It's a great CDPlayer, however the colour is slightly different than my other Cambridge separates, even though they are all listed as lunar grey.
