The Complete Illustrated Kama Sutra

This was a bridal shower gift. The artwork and information is well presented and respectful. As a hard bound book it is a keeper intriguing couples for years.

Haven’t gotten to read yet, but just out of the box, it’s high quality and well written. Illustrations are well colored and drawn.

This book provides an easy to access overview of the ancient traditions of the Kama Sutra. This is not a sex book, nor is it pornographic. It outlines a way of living that is based on seeking pleasure, yet remaining in tune with god, nature and other living things, especially women. This book is illustrated with lots of full color images that date back centuries and depict eroticism in a tasteful way. People interested in learning the way of the Kama Sutra will find this book to be a great overview and introduction. It should be considered both an historical text as well as a guide to understanding, oneself and their connection to nature and humanity. Definitely buy this book if you are interested in living a life of fulfillment.

There are two types of people in this world. There are people who have heard of the Kama Sutra and people who have actually read it. It goes without saying that there are far more of the former in this world than the latter. Finding an electronic edition of such an ancient work that, by all reasonable standards, stands the test of time, easily warrants giving it five stars, especially since the translation quality of the text is of the highest order. Although I can understand why there are those who may not have the highest opinion of this edition because of the quality of the illustrations, I believe that regardless of their quality, because the text is all there, it impels the reader to work to understand what they are reading. Also, because this is an electronic edition, one would not need to worry about whatever physical defects might accompany a paperback or hardcover edition. In short, I highly recommend this book.

I was expecting a pretty good edition of the actual Kama Sutra text, which it is. I was also expecting the artwork to be both more relevant to the appropriate parts of the book, not merely random, poor examples of Indian erotic art. Given India's rich artistic history and brilliant executions of erotic painting and stonework, this left me unfulfilled and confused as to its textual relevance. Like finding a random family photo in an Ikea furniture manual.

Revitalized

This is not the same as what I read 20 years ago. This is guide to manipulation, lies and deceit. Page 151 literally advises the man to drug and rape the woman he wants so he can force her into marriage. Barbaric, disgusting and definitely not what I was looking for. PS. The art is repetitive and meh
