Simple. modular, solid
This item turned out to be absolutely what I needed: a base that can be screwed into wood/metal, and a separable shaft that screws into a mic holder. Using the shaft alone, anchoring mic cable with a twist tie for strain relief, lets you accurately point hanging microphones. Good value.

Structural Flaw but Works
Bought two of these to mount overhead drum mics to the ceiling. By looking at it, you would think the problem is with it only having two screws, but that’s fine. The center is held together with one screw that loves to loosen. You can’t tighten the screw once it’s mounted, as it’s pressed into the surface it’s mounted on. On one of my mic mounts, I had the center pole snap off the base. I tried reassembling it, but it wouldn’t tighten at all and I had to buy another. The new one also had the screw loosen up after mounting it to the ceiling but I can correct that if I take it down again to righted the screw.

Using as internal drum mount
I have a 2022 Tama Imperialstar kit and this works as an internal mount from drum mics. The only thing is you need longer screws. I also purchased here on Amazon. The original screws are m4x12mm so I purchased m4x16mm. Also, for the xlr cable I am using xlr to rca female through the drum port hole, then rca male to xlr inside the drum.
